Black and blue berries, earth, tobacco. Layered beautifully. Power and elegance in harmonious balance! Has so much more to go! Wish I saved this opening for about 10-12 more years! Makes me fall back in love with CA Cabs!!! — 9 years ago
Opening up some beer to create cellar space. Also minor celebration for work related stuff. Not what I expected but real good. Highly carbonated and the beer itself is actually a little light in power. But the bourbon is very well integrated. Lots of vanilla. It doesn't taste like a flabby Chardonnay. I wish there was a little more raisins in there as it's a good taste. Maybe waited a little long on this one? Good though — 9 years ago
Ok. It's Friday, isn't it? Time for some Napa Cabernet...
Dark ruby/Inky in color with a thin, dark ruby rim.
Tight on the nose, with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, figs, cloves, earth, leather, cherries, oak, smoke, eucalyptus, chocolates, vanilla, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Bone dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, black tea, coffee, tobacco, heavy cola and peppercorn.
Medium plus in finish with firm, bold tannins and spices.
This is a good quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Single Vineyard, from Mt. Veeder in Napa Valley.
Still young, and wouldn't open up even after 3 hours. Needs a few more years in the bottle.
Not fully balanced yet, but complex and definitely drinkable.
I wish the nose would give out some, but the palate was pleasant. Better with food right now, but I'm sure that in a few years, this would be a great sipping wine.
I Paired it with filet mignon and roasted potatoes.
Grapes are grown in Mount Vedder, on gravely soil, and are hand harvested.

This bottle was one of four I kept for a few years. This one was incredible, the others were rubbish. Not sure what happened but wish they were all this good! — 10 years ago
I wish I could wear this as a scent.. No joke some serious balance and restraint. Great for breakfast 😁 — 10 years ago
I wish I had the restraint to lay some of these down for years. Just so good. — 11 years ago
The kind of depth I always wish for in a Pinot, but rarely find. — 11 years ago
Wondeful bottle! A wish we could've stayed on this wine for 5-10 more years. Oh, it would open up nicely! — 12 years ago
Essentially the perfect wine for my palette. Beautiful feminine floral nose, pretty, ethereal cherries and bright red raspberries, along with anise and tobacco. Weightless mouthfeel with a rich consistency; like having your tongue wrapped in liquid velvet. However those earthy Sangiovese tannins show up just in time to add a remarkable masculine balance. This wine sang a song about food. Gosh I wish I had another.... — 8 years ago
Found this one behind another one in storage. All I can say is....DAMN. This drinks like a Sangiovese that I paid 3x the amount for. Dense cedar and a little sweet blackberry. Smooth operator on the front and finish. A part of me is very sad this one was bought out by Kendall Jackson but I hope they kept their identity intact. Lilac and pepper finish. Immense. LOVED this wine. Almost gave it 95 but not quite there. I wish I had another case of this one! — 9 years ago

Amazing for its age. Complex and elegant. Wish they still made wine this good. — 9 years ago
Good for a hearty meal but really more for after, terrific chocolate notes makes me think of pairing with dessert. Very high alcohol, is this a port sailing under the flag of Zin? Wish I had bought more. — 9 years ago
This poor bottle has been with me for years, in several different locations (closet, refrigerator, basement, wine fridge...) figured I'd put it out of its misery finally. Seemed like I killed it on opening, but really blossomed with air. Ripe concentrated cassis and dark herbal elements. Wish I could have (properly) held on to this a little longer — 10 years ago
Do you ever drink at lunch? Me neither......weeeelll, rarely...and sometimes in retrospect I wish I had. It relaxes you and certainly loosens things up. I did this weekend post race. We caravan'd down to Charleston for bridge run weekend. Enjoyed this cab outside upon return to DI. This Darioush 2nd label is always solid and doesn't break the bank. Luckily some car dancing with my stepdaughter playing DJ on the caravan back burned off some drinking calories ;) — 10 years ago

Just a monster, needs another 10-15 years in bottle to truly enjoy but it was a special for the make a wish gala in Greenwich tonight so im drinking it with the table YUM! — 10 years ago
My second bottle from the vintage. After letting it breathe for an hour, the oxidation helped it balance out some of the rough edges i remember from the first tasting. It has a very good balance of tannins, fruit, and acidity. Will get better for the foreseeable future. I wish I had bought more. — 11 years ago
Still inky and scrumptious. Really wish they still made this. Should drink just as well for a few more years. — 11 years ago
Perfect Sancerre. Everything you would wish and hope for. — 8 years ago
Eucalyptus and earth, blue fruits and slight oak. Found at a private collection in NY and worth it. Luxurious mouthfeel, super smooth tannins but very youthful for a 34 yr old bottle. Special wine for a special day. Happy Easter @Marcus Lancaster wish you were here to share brother. — 9 years ago
First, a person has to pause and realize how lucky they are to drink this wine from 3L. Thanks Clyde for opening. This is in a perfect stage. Such evolution, length, balance, structure. Love the lower 80's alcohol levels. It's rich, lush and near perfect. Dark cassis; ripe and resolved blackberries, dark cherries, black plum w/skin, mixed berry liqueur, tobacco leaf, leather so soft you would wish it as a pillow cover, dry pebbles, dark rich earth, perfect acidity and a rich, elegant, ripe dark fruit finish. In 3L, this wine still has 10-15 years. — 9 years ago
Had this wine as part of our 19 year wedding anniversary meal. At 19 years from vintage, this wine is showing incredibly well. Tannins are still firm and there is an excellent, overall, structure that I would say should hold for another 5-10 years. I wish I had another bottle or two to try in that timeframe. — 9 years ago
As I put my sweet baby girl to bed after a looong day, snuggling with her in her new "big girl bed", I found a stray eyelash on her cheek. Maybe I'm alone in this, but for as long as I can remember I have been superstitiously transferring these from one finger to another...and if I blow the lash off while making a wish, "they" say it will come true. I tried wishing this was a 2007 Screaming Eagle - or that I could magically be beamed onto David Lentine's Napa trip for the night (ha!). Alas, no such luck. Seriously thou, with my kids' lashes, I have always wished the same thing: "may you have a wonderful life." But I made this addition: "may you always have the courage to be yourself." #inthistogether #overturnHB2 #onlylove — 10 years ago
Very young, great with Christmas steak. Eucalyptus for days. Wish I had more of these — 10 years ago
Had this on my wish list & my boyfriend got it for our anniversary. It was so smooth & flavorful. — 10 years ago
Like it a lot!!
Wish I bought more!
Perfect for a Friday evening on the front porch .

Now this is serious Brunello. Delicious! I wish I had left it alone for another 5 years. — 11 years ago

This one was served pop and pour, and I really wish that I had double decanted earlier in the AM as this wine was a touch too young. Even after 3 hours, the wine was still not completely open. But it was showing what it has to offer in the FUTURE, and for that I'm glad that the other bottle is in long term storage because that's exactly where it needs to be. Cocoa, black cherry, black tea, medium+ density wine. Lots of black cherry and coffee bean in the middle. The finish is darker, and did show very well after 3 hours to include a lot of blackberry and black pepper in the finish. At the time that this one was completely GONE was the time when we should have started DRINKING on it. Lots of tannin still on the finish. This wine will be beautiful in 5 years, and will hold another 15 quite easily. — 8 years ago
