Not tannic. Lightly fruity. An excellent red for lamb. — 6 years ago
A fruity bold smell to it. However drinking wise it is light, smooth with a nice light fruity and spicy taste but not masses of depth or finish to it but very enjoyable. Overall a nice drinking wine at a Turkish restaurant. — 8 years ago
Excellent Chardonnay! Crisp apple taste with vanilla finish. Great bottle. — 9 years ago
Astonishingly good wine. Most guides tell you to pay more than £8 at least and that's wise, but this tipple was infinitely better than the Malbec reserve that set me back £9 from sainsbury. It's silky, deep, vanilla-cherry and unctuous. Can't see through the liquid, buy it by the case before the maker twigs. — 9 years ago
2015 Bronze winner @ CA State Fair comp but underrated IMO. Red fruit, spice, earth. Good stuff. — 7 years ago
Delicious, savory cab franc and a great value. More leather and herbal notes than fruit. Fairly tannic for the style. Versatile food wise. — 7 years ago
Fabulous blend, fruity with notes of plum, blackberry, and vanilla. Smooth but lively and present beginning, with an earthy finish that paints the palate dry. Let it open up for a few minutes before diving in. — 8 years ago
A few more years in the cellar would have been a wise decision. Still lovely. Full bodied. 8/5/16 — 9 years ago
Powerful and brooding fruit. Blinded this wine drinks like a wise teenager. — 9 years ago
Ripe and supple berry pie. Dark dark spicy fruit in a velvety coat of midnight cacao, nutmeg, cinnamon and clove. Big tannins that cling to palate all the way through the finish. Relax back in your recliner near the fireplace for this one! Perfect rainy day wine. — 5 years ago
Oak and marzipan on the nose, with a whack of fruits of the forest. Taste-wise, it's warm red fruits, quite soft and viscous to begin with but then some solid grip to follow through. Very nice. — 6 years ago
70 CA 30 GR old vine bottling that proves how important Carignan can be in arid, warm climate winemaking. At 15% abv this wine carries balance, life, and most importantly complex interplay of deeply hued fruit and savory layers. There’s an air of roasted meatiness, leather, wet slate, and roasted black and purple fruits that stands out. In the background purple flowers, smoke, talcum, licorice, brown sugar. Palate is expansive, rich without being too heavy, kept in check by balancing acid of the carignan. Tannin wise there’s grit, nothing overpowering but flowing nicely about, keeping the texture present with its length. — 6 years ago

Aromatic, but a little too much oak and alcohol coming through. Fresh and racy, coming out of Castelnuovo del Abate, one of the hotter subzones of Montalcino climate wise. All the way down at the bottom of southern Montalcino. South facing slopes and lots of sun. Maybe too much. — 9 years ago

17.5 still deep red, with amber rim. Good acidity, fruit better than I thought at the outset . Decanting wise, oddly the fruit emerged. — 5 years ago
