Decanting now, red/purple in color, bright cherry Pinot fruits jumping out of the decanter, fun times lay ahead. Notes forthcoming...

Nose is full on cherry perfume, like a great eau de parfum but with mashed spring cherry, hints of dry, crushed rock linger.

Palate is just over packed with ripe, sweet red cherry, early season black cherry...intense.

I think this is still very tight, needs way more air time than tonight, notes will be updated tomorrow.

So mineral it's almost like vulcanized rubber. And very fragrant and floral. Nice wine, great acidity and intense sugar. Tastes like the grapes. Perfect Kabinett. Just a delight. — 8 years ago

Clear, pale and lemon in colour. Medium (+) intensity of delicious aromas that are unwilling to remain complacent as the wine sits in the glass. First opened up to fresh and brandied apricot being the sweeter note amongst some ripe citrus and green apple. Its developed into a nose of tangy lemon starburst, honeysuckle, orange blossom, some exotic tropical fruits and some feint slate-like character. Plenty of zippy, spritzy acid adding a little bit to a medium body. The palate is dry despite being lead down a potential off-dry path expressing its citrus qualities. Longer than medium finish, probably drank a little young. 3-5 more years and she'll be a peach 👌 — 9 years ago

Tastes like a young pauillac. Dominant bellpepper and spicy notes, underlined with subtle cassis and other dark fruit. High and adstringent tannins, also very dominant acidity. May be not so round now but this baby has everything to develop over the next 10-20 years. Or drink now if you like your bordeaux young - this wine is maybe the closest you can get to traditional bordeaux-style in austria. — 6 years ago

Quite rich & powerful with ripe pomelo and green grapefruit, lemon tart and some matchstick reduction. Fullbodied with the wood nicely integrated, good lemony acidity and nice length with a flinty finish. Needs some time to aerate so large burgundy glasses are a must. — 6 years ago

Gorgeous and pungent aromas out of the gates. Lemon party on the nose. Gorgeous pith and candied meyer lemon, superb minerality and also some black current. Palate is just electric with this confectionary sweetness derived from unreal minerality and sweet herbals and some sort KD fruit I can’t put my finger on. But it’s tasty and gorgeous. What energy and precision. So juicy and so much material. This is awesome. Complex and so drinkable and engaging with geek factor and normie factor. Really sick minerality and that 18 crunch.
