Walnut skins, curling yellow parchment paper, roasted yellow apples, poached pear, and honeysuckle. Larmandier-Bernier's Vieille Vigne de Cramant Grand Cru 2006 always feels autumnal to me and masterfully constructed. Subtle oxidation, ultra-fine mousse and quarried vinosity on the finish makes this a somewhat austere Champagne. One feels compelled to study it, the graceful lines and branching sexpartite ribs, transverse arches, and dappled, dusty sunlight filtered through clerestory windows, its weightless, timeless charm. 12.5% ABV — 9 years ago
It's really good, could use more acidity to seperate it from their c/s, as the yeast or process they use leave a deep finger print that can't be ignored through all varietals, and I know you just redid the label but can we talk? Cause it is still needing an update. Windows 95NT — 10 years ago
These older PM whites can be wonderful and complex (like this bottle) or elegant but a bit tired
Great to experiment with these wines to reevaluate how long their drinking windows can extend — 10 years ago

Love it when people talk about drinking windows. This wine breaks your drinking window. How you like that? 1975 to the face with authority. This only gained strength the longer it was exposed to air. Wait a second, what happens to wine when you drink it on the moon? Does it even oxidize? GET TO THE CHOPPAHHHHH. — 8 years ago

Dusty like driving down a gravel road with the windows open. Acid keeping it super fresh. Complex. Finish for days. Best bottle of the four I had, wish I had another case. Outstanding. — 9 years ago
Slightly musty in a good way, soft fruits. Paired with rack of lamb, roasted figs. Cecelia's third night in DC, windows open, warm night. — 10 years ago
I'm not in the mood to apologize. Because sometimes the secret you don't want to get out is that big Chards are the bees knees, the slap on the back you need to get to get that skip back in your step, the rock ballad you blast at full volume (windows up, natch)...And really, what's not to like in this crushed cashew-laid-over -candied-lemon-peel pleaser, this fleshy white peach-riddled hothouse flower, this pineapple custard cutie?? But in all seriousness, there is straight-up respectable structure here, pert-enough acidity to be fresh-ish, and a lingering finish with just enough soupçon of minerality to be decent. In short, what's not to like? ***Don't be haters, yo*** — 10 years ago
Best dry Riesling I have ever had. Went great with a chicken dish. — 11 years ago

Drinking beautifully with notes of crunchy red fruits and plenty of earthiness and soft tannins. An object lesson in Brunello drinking windows and encouragement to leave my 06 and 07s to sleep in storage a while longer. — 8 years ago
Today I needed this beautiful Chardonnay, smacked myself in the face in the winery at work and broke my nose. The only answer was Windows Chardonnay. So beautiful, so nurturing and sold out. Medicine. — 9 years ago
Crisp and dry with strong lime and green apple and subtle mandarin. Perfect for a humid summers night. — 9 years ago
Excellent, crisp Pinot Noir Rose. Drank this at Noble Rot in Portland on a warm evening with the windows open and the fresh air flowing. Paired perfectly with salmon. — 10 years ago
Delicious nose, finish is very slight. Passion fruit. — 10 years ago
Lunchtime work Mousseux Chenin Blanc with huge bubbles but super lemon zesty on the palate. Funk to start and big back palate spritz to finish. — 11 years ago

Drinking this wine tastes like driving on the country roads of my home state of Wisconsin with the windows rolled down; the grainy dust and the sweet smell of manure in the air. Yes-- the sweet smell of manure :) — 8 years ago
