This punches above its weight class. Having had the estate cuvée and cote bottles, this feels a peer. Big deep fruits. Smooth all the way through. Loved it — 3 years ago
A GSM blend from Cris Cherry at Villa Creek, this is what I would call one of his entry-level wines. Doesn’t possess the depth or complexity of some of his other cuvees like High Road or Avenger, but is still really enjoyable and a great value. — 6 years ago

A tannic monster. Figured a wine named "Wild Boar" is appropriate for Father's Day. This is so freaking dark in notes, but the color wouldn't allude to that. Color is red/purple and smells hot. Red licorice, peppercorn, anise on the nose. High tannins on the palate. Cedar, smoky, beef jerky notes to it. Spicy rhubarb too. If opening now, this needs at least a two hour decant. — 9 years ago

A wine to remember. Plenty of fruit after 38 years. It continued to open for an hour and held on long after that. A truly special wine. many thx Mike for letting us help "rescue" this one from a worn out cork. — 11 years ago

Christmas Day wine 🎄🎅🏼🍷
Acquired this for two reasons: Flora Springs was my “a-ha” wine 10yrs ago which started my wine journey, and secondly because it’s my sister-in-law’s birth year.
Enjoyed on Christmas Day (with said sister-in-law) and family (the family who introduced me to wine + Flora Springs). Kept the bottle standing for a few days. In the glass, there was bricking but the color was much more vibrant than expected. Aromatically, it showed mushroom and fig, but a good bit of muddled red and black berry fruit, some mint as well. Alive, elegant and bright on the palate with good tannin structure (held strong the two hours it was open). Small hint of tobacco at the finish, but the berry fruit stayed persistent keeping the flavors balanced. Undeniably older Napa (13%) and in great shape. — a year ago

A pre-dinner bottle while we do meal prep tonight.
Prior notes still apply:
Nose has lime zest, lime juice, green hay, wet granite/limestone pebbles, oxidized green apple peel, polyethylene tubing and tangerine peel.
Palate has Key lime flesh, cold tangerine slice, apricot skin, wet-pulverized limestone, lemongrass, tangerine zest, (minor) dried apricot and light honey on the medium finish, medium acid, great balance. — 5 years ago
Very silky with nice honeysuckle notes. Balanced. Some pineapple finish — 7 years ago
Heavy on the melon, plenty of a acidity and just a whisper of oak. — 8 years ago
Solidness, richness, purfumery, goodness — 10 years ago

Stephanvineyards L’Aventure 2016 Optimus Estate. This fabulous wine is a blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Petit Verdot. WOW!!! This amazing adventure starts off with a Blackberry, Wild Cherry and Pomegranate explosion. The oak in the middle is sandwiched by layers of hazelnut, chocolate, and spice. Then there is Pomegranate everywhere. The finale captivates you with a dry smoky fish leaving you thirsty for more. - Dr Todd and Herronfamilywines — 7 years ago
Flora springs. One of our favorite labels! Never disappointed. Smooth blend. Super easy drinker. Crowd pleaser — 8 years ago
Drinking this wine made me forget Donald Trump was our president. Which begs the question, is it better to have drank, then to never drank at all?
