Nice! Black Cherry and light. Excellent bottle and I'll get it again. — 7 years ago
Right in my wheelhouse. High acid, savoury notes, the works. — 8 years ago
Mother's Day 2015. In my wheelhouse. Well balanced, good acidity. Good yeastiness. — 9 years ago
Fully in its wheelhouse, the 2010 Traminette from Barren Ridge is not only a reflection of the strength of the vintage, but also a reflection of the character we first fell in love with from this charming little estate in Fishersville, Virginia. Refreshing and juicy with a rich, luscious, and peachy mouthfeel. Beautifully laced with a touch if sweetness that 'ties the bow'. — 10 years ago
Fantastically smooth! — 10 years ago
Got better with air, the richness and brightness of the Grenache took a while to shine but when it did both the nose and the pallet became more intense. The wheelhouse for this winery is Grenache. — 7 years ago
Peppery, effervescent, balanced and delightfully in my wheelhouse. A favorite varietal. — 7 years ago
Raisiny, earthy, licorice. Needs a bit of time but this is my wine wheelhouse. — 8 years ago
Outside of my wheelhouse but was good totally old word — 8 years ago

While this is a nice rose champagne, I find it's minerality and fruit slightly out of balance. The minerality overpowers the fruit. There is nice precision but a bit too much tension in the hard chalkiness/minerals. Acidity is good. The fruits have a bit of a tart/sour character. Black cherries, black raspberries, strawberries, touch of watermelon near the rhine, very pronounced edged chalkiness & volcanic minerals, pink rose pedals & baguette. It's enjoyable but bends a bit out of my rose champagne wheelhouse. Merry Christmas Sofia. Looking forward to our own Christmas Eve tonight before we travel for the holiday. — 7 years ago
My wheelhouse flavor profile-echoes of Jura, green bean foam, asian pear. Eye opener, & less than 15$ — 8 years ago
I had not visited this wine in several year but took the opportunity to do so today. Boy was that a great call. While the nose was tame the flavors are of dark cooked fruits and the tannins, sweet. The alcohol serves as a prefect envelop to deliver the complex layers of this voluptuous sexy wine which can hold your attention for a 30 finish which might be beyond the attention span of @Bill Bender but well within @Roman Sukley wheelhouse. This is just a great effort by #JeffSmith and winemaker @Robert Foley — 8 years ago
Right in my wheelhouse. Fairly big fruits of dark cherry and plum. Decanted for over 3 hours which really opened up well. Firm, well structured tannins and very full, round mouth feel that has longevity on the back of the tongue. — 9 years ago
Earthy, forest floor. Full bodied and high alcohol Pinot. This wine definitely squarely in my wheelhouse. — 9 years ago
Love it, this one is in my wheelhouse, ripe fruit and smokey fatty bacon on the nose. Lots of spice and a good amount of acidity. Good length on the finish, this one is a nice surprise and at $16 I would buy again. Goes really well with Italian sausage and black olive (or mushroom) pizza. — 10 years ago
#killerjuice if you like white Rhone white wines this is SO in your wheelhouse #malvasia #italy — 10 years ago
This funky saison is right in my wheelhouse. — 11 years ago

Had found other Vallanas kinda meh of late, but this works on an other level, possibly as this has found its drinking window:the nose is a wild blend of rusted iron & cinnamon, just catnip for my palate; minerally entry & mid palate, maintains though a juicy mouthfeel. All at a 12.5% alc, again my wheelhouse — 7 years ago
