It started with wisteria violet and a big fruit
Developed with liquorice, gunpowder, graphite, roasted chestnuts, chickpeas, curry, forest floor, apple crumble, tobacco, leather, rose, cured meats, cardamom
Intense and very persistent
Maybe the freshness is not its first quality, but an amazing complexity
Fading from its peak perhaps too, but still very enjoyable, fascinating and interesting — 5 years ago
Sparkling Shiraz is an Aussie specialty and very appropriate on Christmas Day. This is interesting in that it is made by Ashton Hills with fruit from a 97 year old vineyard in the Clare owned by Wendouree. A rich mouth filling plummy palate with a gentle mousse soft tannins and acid with a long finish. Delicious! — 7 years ago
Young but beautiful. All the structure and incredible fruit for a long and delicious life! — 9 years ago
Some good booze this week! Castel Giacondo, poised, silky texture, not showing it's 15% Alc, Wendouree Shiraz Mataro, drinking beautifully, layers of yumminess, YY Carodus Merlot true to site with rich sweet fruit and restraint, would have loved a bit more structure from it. All delicious. #FilthyGoodVino #Wine #Wendouree #Brunello #YarraYering — 9 years ago

Aromas of black currant mint and menthol- some rusticity. This is the telltale Menthol/Eucalyptus character of old vine Clare Valley Cabernet, just like Wendouree. Medium bodied with Medium plus Intensity. Sweet Palate. A very satisfying Cabernet with a Cape Grim Rib Fillet. — 7 years ago
This has been worth waiting for!!! — 9 years ago
Earthy aromas with cranberry and Basil. Some Clare Valley menthol but not as much as Wendouree from Clare. Oak influence has minimised but it would have got a fair hit when made. To summarise a medium to full bodied Clare Valley Shiraz drinking well. — 5 years ago
Sneaky little aussie Pinot that is just too hard to come by - 3ha in the Adelaide Hills. Founded by Stephen George, also known as the winemaker at famed Australian winery Wendouree - impeccable heritage and beautifully precise expression of Pinot Noir — 7 years ago
Sticky icky. — 8 years ago
Nose of berry fruits. Absence of menthol notes often found with other Clare Valley producers like Wendouree - regardless of grape variety! Richly flavoured, medium to full bodied. Well balanced integration of oak. — 8 years ago
Ceccherini Cristiano
Still holding unbelievably
It feels like a great Bordeaux with a mesmerizing eucalyptus decoration rather than other kind of greens
There is no other Australian wine that gives me this pleasure
Super elegant and endless — 5 years ago
