16/20 (89/100) Вино с ароматами черники, ежевики, перца и легким тоном гвоздики. Высокая кислотность и интенсивные, но мягкие танины. Неплохо. — 7 years ago
Matt really likes. Dry, tannic, still light on the palette, so not as robust or rounded as a cab, but some similarities. Malbecs are Leigh's go to steak wine. — 8 years ago

traminer "ried froschau "
HUGE austrian white!!
what a tension, complexity and potential!
always makes me smile!!
for some pragmatic reason hp used different barrels that year (oak instead of acacia), which leads to a slightly different style with less incense impact.

This wine is made by the great Michel Roland and is a blend of 81% merlot 19% Cabernet Sauvignon from weinbau vineyard candy mountain Dionysus and Conner lee vineyard all are warm sites and the Cabernet is from tapteil on red mountain. A very big and seductive bouquet of dark plum and crem de cassis like fruit very rich and ripe with toasty oak spice dried flowers and dark coco very complex and long on the finish. Big and chewy very rich and layered with silky smooth velvety texture with layers of dark chocolate and a very long finish. Finish 50+ wonderful balance and length with a firm hand of acidity — 11 years ago
Pretty good! Good balance of bitterness and sweetness! I bought this one for my Dad from a winery Mrs. Webb is a member of out in Woodinville. — 11 years ago

Not overly complex, but with pure fruit, juicy acidity and the Eisenberg minerality. Might seem a bit rustic, but highly drinkable. Great price value. — 7 years ago

While at Total Wine, I picked up the previous Novelty Hill bottle and this Januik Merlot, (the Cabernets are a bit out of my price range at the moment). As mentioned previously, these wineries share a tasting space in Woodinville, WA. Mike Januik, the winemaker and owner of the Januik label, has been labeled one of the "Masters of Merlot" and, as the name implies, specializes mainly in Bordeaux grapes sourced from mature vineyards around the Columbia Valley. 2013 was a warmer year towards harvest than the previous two vintages, yielding in changes to the flavor profile of many of the grapes in the Columbia Valley due to the longer hang time on the vine. This wine is composed of 96% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon (likely to add a tad more tannic structure), harvested from Weinbau, Klipsun, and Ciel du Cheval vineyards and seems like it could benefit with another year or two under its belt. ~$22 | #januik #merlot #columbiavalley
On the eyes: Med opacity, bright, magenta-garnet, med stain, med+ tears. No gas, evidence of floc.
On the nose: Cherry, black plum, orange peel, dried hay, herbaceous, with a hint of chocolate, med+ alcohol.
On the tongue: Med+ tannin, med acid, med+ alcohol, med+ body. Cherry, black plum skin, and blueberry yielding to hints of menthol, chocolate, and cedar with a pleasant long oaky finish. — 9 years ago
2004 vintage. Little known fact. None of it is from Pepper Bridge, they froze. Part of it is from Weinbau, rest? I forget. So yummy. Aged to perfection. Soft tannin. Mouth filling and long finish. Drink now. Last bottle. Could have gone longer but will match well with grilled lamb chops. — 10 years ago

16.5/20 (91/100) Аромат вишневой карамели, брусники и яблок. Довольно высокая кислотность и мягкие, но сильные танины. Весьма достойно. — 7 years ago
flowerbomb with lots of jasmine! — 7 years ago
Light to medium gold with greenish tint. Leesy nose. Wet stone, McIntosh apple, honey - white flower, camomile. Fresh baguette. Med+ acid, medium body (that’s deceptively rich). Baked pear on the palate, but bright, clean, and incisively focused. Acid is all in tune - and the result is elegant. — 7 years ago
