Trocken Riesling 2019

Stylistically so different from the 18. On the nose: lovely lime and lemon oil, loads of slate and crushed rock, amazing intensity, which is all similar to18, but on the palate, this couldn't be more different. This has a regal richness: almost oily and dense up front, in contrast to the very linear 18...then the acidity kicks in to round this out....the mouth waters, filling with lime, soft smoky notes and wet stone. Excellent, not sure which of the 18 and 19 I prefer now. — 3 years ago

Still Waters Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Yes Syrah! This red is not for the faint of heart. It’s a dry vintage and unforgiving under the wrong tongue. My advice is to wait for the 2nd or even 3rd aftertaste, as you might be surprised by sensations you’ve never noticed before. — 6 years ago

Vieilles Vignes Montagny 1er Cru Chardonnay

Dipping my toes in the white Burg waters as the rain falls in Honolulu. Solid afternoon sipper, crisp ripe green apple, micro-hint of butterscotch, nice round mouth feel, pleasing acidity. I know it's an entry level Burg, however I can get used to this. — 8 years ago
