This may be the smoothest Hermitage I've had @ £83 it's like a pig rolling in velvet 🐷 so smooooth 😍 Great now but 97+ over next 5-20yrs 😎

Magnum 1997 Joseph Phelps Insignia. Drank at Archetype lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Second of the red lineup, following a magnum of 1975 Heitz. Much bigger and its youth showed. Lovely wine that we all really enjoyed. — 8 years ago

1985 Sassicaia. Second red wine at Redd Wood lunch w A, S, and K. This wine was perfect. Epic. We could not believe how perfect this wine was drinking. Thoroughly enjoyed it- it was enjoyable the way truffles are- hard to describe, but pleasing to all relevant senses. — 9 years ago

1997 Ornellaia MLA Cab. Second red at lunch at Ivy w K and Iana. Such a great contrast to the DuMol pinot. This wine was more brown, earthy, smooth and without sharp edges. Delicious. Such a treat — 10 years ago
