Like biting into a delicious piece of citrus volcano lava rock, excellent FAB in this 2012. Tenuta Terre Nerre hits another one out the park with this €16 gem - nice QPR. Paired great with crab cucumber salad. — 10 years ago

Etna DOC Bianco Superiore, 2009, 12,5%. Bottle tasted in July 2014. Made with Carricante grapes grown on the edges of Etna volcano, and you can really taste the minerals. Perhaps this wine is not for everyone, but I really like the unusual taste. — 11 years ago

Yes. Poured from a magnum, this wine is intensely earthy on the palate and reflects its fossil-rich, mineralic soil at the base of a volcano. Slightly gritty, having the characteristic muskiness one might expect from a Mourvèdre heavy wine with tons of beautiful Grenache fruit. Ahhh-ha, hush that fuss. — 10 years ago
