Volcano Ridge Vineyard Petite Sirah 2013

Amazing wine. Super young: I had half the bottle breathing for 24 hours, which improved the already impressive wine. This thing is going to be a monster wine after a few years in a dark, cool place. — 10 years ago

Tenuta delle Terre Nere

Etna Bianco Carricante Blend 2012

Like biting into a delicious piece of citrus volcano lava rock, excellent FAB in this 2012. Tenuta Terre Nerre hits another one out the park with this €16 gem - nice QPR. Paired great with crab cucumber salad. — 10 years ago

Pietra Marina Etna Bianco Superiore Carricante 2009

Etna DOC Bianco Superiore, 2009, 12,5%. Bottle tasted in July 2014. Made with Carricante grapes grown on the edges of Etna volcano, and you can really taste the minerals. Perhaps this wine is not for everyone, but I really like the unusual taste. — 11 years ago

Cuvée Réservée Côtes de Provence Rosé Syrah Blend 2012

Very mild rose - paired nicely with a French triple creme Brie called Moon Dust, which had flakes of volcano dust in the rind. Would recommend both the cheese and vino! — 12 years ago

Domaine d'Aupilhac

La Boda Red Blend 2008

Yes. Poured from a magnum, this wine is intensely earthy on the palate and reflects its fossil-rich, mineralic soil at the base of a volcano. Slightly gritty, having the characteristic muskiness one might expect from a Mourvèdre heavy wine with tons of beautiful Grenache fruit. Ahhh-ha, hush that fuss. — 10 years ago

Allegracore Etna Rosso DOC Nerello Mascalese-Nerello Cappuccio Blend 2012

This Etna rosso is quite nice, stony, so much volcano mineral ash! — 11 years ago

Passopisciaro

Passopisciaro Sicilia Nerello Mascalese 2011

Smoky volcano rocks, fruit darker than some, but it has that unique Etna texture. Green highlights in the aromatics. Superlative wine — 11 years ago

Smoky volcano rocks, fruit that is plummy, cherry, and citrus all at once. Doesn't seem high ph like the '10. Has that unique Etna/nerello texture/structure., and all with green highlights to the aromatics.
