Purchased in Bellagio during 2014 visit to Lake Como. Rich, brooding style of Brunello. Licorice on nose. Black cherry, black currant, cedar, tobacco., toast and spice on lingering finish. Lively acidity and well balanced, with great structure. Wine Spectator rated 96 points and named #4 wine of 2011. — 8 years ago

Had this wine in a restaurant on top of the mountain in Bellagio, Lake Como. Nebbiolo grape and harvested without machines bc such steel hills. Requested organic wine and 1/3 on the menu. Said high acidity but he loves the wine and one of his favorites - tart cherry on the nose but taste very beautiful and acid not overbearing. Feels light. Clean finish.
