Smells and tastes like fig. Smooth. — 9 years ago
A rich complex intriguing wine. Dark fruit, nut and pepper. Tannins but not too much. Really amazing value, and for 7 years old still tastes incredibly vibrant. — 9 years ago
White - Another fantastic wine from Lopez de Heredia, aged for six years in barrel a wonderful vintage that aged greatly, light waxy and oxydation notes - always happy to get this great classics from one of the best traditional producer of Rioja :) — 9 years ago

Garnacha, Jaen (mencia), a host of others. Can something be both Mediterranean and mountainous and reflect character of both? Yes, here's proof. Wild side of garnacha- sage, thyme, black currant- mixed with licorice and plum. Sawdust tannins but non invasive and bright, clear acidity — 6 years ago
👃🏻 fruta negra, tinta china, tostado, cacao amargo 👄 buen entrada, pasó agradable, maduro y quizás un poco joven, le falta limar aristas en el final ... buen vino. — 8 years ago
Fruity and interesting... Interesting like a conversation you want to continue. — 9 years ago
What you could almost call the epic rant on the massive rear label of this wine is itself worth the price of admission, which I think was around $17. This stuff is cloudy and funky and unrepentantly "natural" and really pissed off some winos who frequent my facebook feed a few months ago, basically, I guess, because it is one thing to be a natural wine and quite another to run an almost aggressive manifesto of non-interventionism on a queen-sized sheet of a back label. Nothing crisp or clean about this but it is awesome and unique and something like having a picnic in a musty hayloft with someone you aren't married to and whose language you might not even speak. — 9 years ago
great local Madrid cuvee...needs to open a bit but drinks well. — 9 years ago
They make a fantastic wine with a lot of personality. This is an exemplar of what Bierzo can really be. Truffled, elegant, but not stuffy. — 10 years ago
Loved it with my meatloaf and cheese. Red fruit + chocolate. Very drinkable. Had on flight from Zurich to JFK after nick’s wedding — 3 years ago

Nose is dark cherry. At start is slight pepper and very dark deep cherry flavor that gives way to heavy tannins. Tail medium tannins and medium in length — 10 years ago
Very subtle, but if has a lot of layers and flavors. — 10 years ago

Extremely earthy. Aromas and flavors of red and black fruits with hints of smoke, black licorice and roasted mint leaves. Just a touch of Brett. Really dense (including the color) and concentrated. Fine tannins. Rustic but elegant. Thanks a mark B. — 2 years ago
