Great for a fish place — 7 years ago

A very dark and deep color for a PN. Juicy cherry with spice and rose notes. Not earthy. Like it. — 7 years ago

Great with food, or by itself. Very smooth — 8 years ago
Smooth, imminently drinkable with steak or fish. @juddshill — 8 years ago
Unusual to be drinking a wine this young. Decanted 45min to begin. Nose somewhat muted, though dark fruit and oak are there. Inky purple. Great ripe black and blue fruit. Could still use more time in the air to blend together, but the minerality and earthiness is definitely there to match the fruit. Nice med-long finish. Decanting 2+ hours recommended. — 5 years ago
Huge wine but classic example of old vine zin. — 7 years ago
I think Carol Sheltons Lodi pizazz zin is a great representation of Sonoma fruit. #massive, jammy. Just right for our first fire on a cool NJ night. — 8 years ago

Fantastic! Cloudy rich golden hue, mildly sweet but the main palette presence is honeysuckle and lime. — 7 years ago
First winery on day two in Sonoma was Donelan Family Wines in Santa Rosa with Meredith. The last Rhone varietal red was the Walker Vine Hill Syrah. Sadly we were told that this was the last vintage that will be produced. This bottling is made up of 100% Syrah and is around 40-50% whole cluster fermented then aged for 20 months in 25% new French oak. 1,025 cases produced.
Insanely dark and inky purplish ruby red, completely coats the glass. Dark berries on the start of the nose followed up by cinnamon, cocoa, blueberries and some dustiness. Medium plus tannins (7/10) with a full body. Rich and layered palate with red currants, red plums, even a touch of blue fruits and some solid minerality. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2028. This is a delicious Petit Verdot from Napa Valley.
Tasty right out of the bottle and better after 2 hours in the decanter.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, chocolates, tobacco leaf, spices, tar, peppercorn, dark coffee, earth and licorice.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Dry and fruity on the palate.
Loved the nose here.
14.7% alcohol by volume.
