Our last bottle of this Syrah/Grenache treasure purchased at the estate a couple of years ago. Plums, spice, and earthy notes. Amazing QPR and a beloved memory of vacation and friends. — 8 years ago

A spring chicken. Tons of cassis and kirsch. Sappy forest and cocoa nib, crisp elegant finish. This suckers good for another 10-15. — 10 years ago
Red berries, pinks, lavender. Truly in a nice place. — 11 years ago
Nice and smooth. Opens quick. Smell of leather & bark on the nose with a hint of cocoa. Long finish and very nice legs. — 12 years ago
Spot-on, classic, perfectly delineated Saint Joseph. This is the elegant and pretty side of Syrah. Flowing waves of violets and black pepper lift effortlessly out of the glass with bright red fruits. Mid palate is silk and nearly weightless with fine tannins. Low alcohol and neutral oak profile allow for a very pure expression. Hints of game on the finish with a lingering minerality and a fresh, spicy peppercorn character that would be lovely with a variety of meats and herbs. Beautiful wine that I look forward to revisiting over the next 2-3 years. — 7 years ago

Corkscrew wine & wedge, march 2013 — 12 years ago
Color of clear dark purple mixed with bloody vivid red. Nose of racy sweetness form dried strawberry, raisin, and cherry, moderate strength of alcohol, a bit metallic note, sage, and some grilled peppers. Taste is surprisingly dry with nice oak, powerful tannins, some bitter earthy and metallic note, menthol, and really fruit note in the background. Aftertaste of tannins, firm, some more bitter note, a bit peppery note, a touch of fruit, and some clove. She is still too young. I should've waited for her to mature.
I decided to let her breathe for a while. After 30 minutes, the fruit note surface, and with some cola note showing up too. Also some leafy tobacco note. The tannins is still very powerful, and I still recommend to sit this one for at least another year. — 8 years ago

Tons of freshness to compliment the tar, leather and dark fruits. It remains so light for being such a built wine. Really lovely and I suspect it will age very very well. This is total cote rotie — 7 years ago
