#verdejo #oakintegrated #tierradecastilla #castilla #gonzalezbyass #qpr can definitely age. Universal in the sense that it's great on its own and with many other dishes. — 8 years ago
Pretty large but has the acid to back it up. Still drinking great. — 8 years ago

One of the better chards I've had from John Hilliard's winery along Route 246 near Lompoc, this has improved considerably with a few years in bottle. Still a bit more oak than is my preference, the wine nevertheless exhibits great balance with classic chardonnary aromatics, a medium-plus bodied mouthfeel, and a lingering finish. I still think his Venus bottlings are better expressions of chardonnay, but this one at ~5 years is drinking well! — 8 years ago
This is the standard on which all other barrel aged gins should be judged. By far the best I've ever had. — 8 years ago

Almost a fishy nose, but the flavor was interesting - in a good way - unlike anything else I've had. Not a universal opinion at the table though. Some hated it. — 7 years ago
A journey to the centre of the earth and back, then on to the moon, knocking on the doors of Venus and all the other planets.
Very close to perfection.
Nothing to do with the Tuscan Vin Santo, more like a German TBA. Game of sweetness, freshness, density, viscosity, eternity and who knows what more. A must in your cellar to keep for special occasions.✌️❤️ — 8 years ago

Dig it. Bright, mildly tannic, fresh. — 8 years ago

Nice, but simple. Butterscotch, minerality and menthol. As well integrated as 6 months ago. Had I another bottle I'd drink up now. — 9 years ago
All around hedonistically pleasing wine. Sipped from the exquisite glasses with differing results. Loved the hi-tones and citrus notes accentuated by Zalto's Universal, but also found the uber flinty accents brought to fore in the Riedel Som Series Montrachet rather pleasing. Palate was incredibly vibrant and tensile while managing moments of indulgently soft tones yet finishing with deft, electrically zing. Yum! — 11 years ago

Shone dried leaves black cherry nose. Power tannins! White pepper and menthol more prominent in your trap. Chalky lavendar hints. Pleasingly huge and tight. More brutal, less primary than the 2016, oddly. Down a point as the appeal is less universal even though this is more to my taste. — 5 years ago
