Love the wine and winery - excited the damn Olympics are finally here - don't hate me but go Red, White and Blue - plus want the UK Rugby Seven team to do well (long story) - the wine is starter - been saving these babies -a winner from Napa - rich, spicy with velvety texture and a firm acid structure; elegant, balanced palette and legs built to last.a very long time - really SMILING!

Velvety mouthfeel with medium tannins. Robust red and dried fruits, finish of vanilla and graphite. Quaffable af. Would pair with lamb, rabbit, pork, cheese, hummus. Versatile. Honestly not worth it's price point. An off vintage from a delicious vinyard. Would not be hard to find a bottle 1/5 of the price. — 11 years ago
1995 Pichon-Longueville Pauillac. Still showing youth after almost 20 yrs! Tight with dark fruit aromas of cassis and black cherry with hints of mint and graphite. Quite firm and structured with a long velvety, earthy finish. #wine #sommelier #france #bordeaux — 12 years ago

Really great wine. Big hit at supper club. — 12 years ago
Everything you want out of St Estephe (even though the chateau is famously close to Pauillac from a terroir perspective...) Black currant, plums, leather, green tobacco, iodine, olive tapenade, but velvety soft so the austerity doesn’t extend to the tannic structure. — 8 years ago
Velvety full bodied but balanced — 8 years ago
A superb Cabernet from the Napa Valley. Rich, elegant, with a warm woody nose and velvety roundness. Lots of fruit and vanilla. To be sipped with pause and circumspection. Had the 2009 vintage. — 10 years ago
Fantastic. The best Corison I have tasted so far. Long soft tannins that round up this velvety Cabernet. Glad I followed the advice at the winery years ago. — 11 years ago
Double Magnum 1995 Joseph Phelps Insignia. Drank w K, Ash, and Sush at Lawry's Phelps dinner. This was the clear winner of the night. Perfect. Super lush and velvety. Awesome treat. — 11 years ago
Clear deep purple colour with watery rim. Clean medium intensity aroma with minty black cherry and black currant with hint of oak smokiness and vanilla. Dry on the palate full bodied medium alcohol with medium acidity and high but smooth velvety tannin. Flavours of earthy black currant, black cherry, and vanilla. Flavours last through into its long pleasant finish. Very good quality, drink now but can age for another 3 to 5 years for a even more balanced complexity. — 12 years ago
Amazing smooth velvety Pinot!! — 13 years ago
Crushed velvety leaves from alpine flowers. A wondrous bouquet of a nose, and floral in the right way, not your grandmothers bathroom kind of a way.
Seemed fitting to picture this with our urban garlic harvest. As garlic take such a long time to mature, then even after picked, must be stored properly, to get the fullness of flavor.
Sweet blackberry tar is what this well crafted wine shows up front, subtle mint, eucalyptus, river stone. A perfect tango of tannins and acids, complete with the heel in the air - or maybe that’s my heel, enjoying this wine completely.
Decanted for the usual 3-4 hours. — 8 years ago
2014 vintage "40th anniversary Reserve" with red velvet label. Blend of different vineyards, mainly Rutherford. Medium to full-bodied with pure black fruit, elegance and tannin as velvety as the label suggests. Great value too for a Napa cab. — 9 years ago
Drank for Sean's birthday. Drinking very well. Beautiful, velvety tannins and acidity. Leather, earth, mushroom, red fruits. — 10 years ago
1999 vintage. Deep ruby hue. Amazing nose - full concentration, ripe black fruits, black plum, blackcurrant, graphite, sweet spice, touch of smoke. Still developing. On the palate, medium plus acidity and body, medium ripe tannins, medium alcohol and long lingering sweet finish. Velvety textural wine. Superb and still likely to improve in bottle. Really on it. Drink now until 2026+ — 10 years ago
Super velvety almost creamy. Touches of vanilla, cedar and coffee on the nose with luscious berry and plum flavors. — 10 years ago
Great smooth and velvety fruit opening. blackberry and spices and licorice. Dark mocha emerges on the long finish. Well worth the high rating. Great wine. I — 11 years ago
A testament to a visionary winemaker surrounded by people who want to join him in living the dream. Leather and liquorice on the nose, blackberries in the mouth and a long, velvety vanilla finish. Merci, Jean-Michel Comme. — 12 years ago

I can already tell that my palate is going to need a breather when I get back home: so many big boy reds 😅 Tonight’s pour is luscious and supple with velvety dark fruits, moistened tobacco, smoke, graphite, lavender, and eucalyptus. Looking forward to this opening up. Excellent craftsmanship right here. — 8 years ago
