Great with our Mexican meal at Toucan Resort. Definite do over. I hope they have it at the LCBO in Ontario. — 9 years ago
Balanced ice wine. Do not pair with sweet food. This is balanced delicate sweet wine. — 9 years ago
9.0 for the $$$$$, if you drink as much wine as I do you need a decent cheap wine and I am afraid that I might have to put my preconceived notions of boxed wine aside. — 9 years ago
Here we've got an appellation who is best known for whites than red. Even though it is only a generic Chassagne "rouge" village from Ramonet, what I do appreciate the most in this kind of pinot noir is the straightforwardness of the fruit, a clean tannin, a lightness and pretty well-balanced oak, the happy simplicity - that is not the same as banality - of drinking a bottle alone without even realizing it. I really like so nice and well made wines that leaves me from first sip to last one such a genuine impression of vine to cellar to table squaring of the circle both at the nose and into my mouth. Want you imagine also the pairing though: the most delicious cornmeal mush (polenta) of my life with turnip greens and shavings of pecorino sardo. Wholemeal red corn (granturco rosso formenton otto file della Garfagnana e Valle del Serchio del Mulino di Piezza) from an old Mill that has now apparently closed doors forever because high quality and selectivity of production nowdays, sadly, doesn't pay the rent. — 10 years ago
Made by monks and farmed organically, although they do not have official recognition, this red wine is very dark, both in appearance and in smell. The wine's nose offers lovely aromas of blackberry and blueberry draped in savory notes of spice, herb and black olives. The palate is just as complex, with black berries, anise, a little tar and a trace of espresso. — 10 years ago
Grosjean can't do me wrong. Their Fumin offering has such great acidity and just a touch of smoke. — 10 years ago

Nice, crisp Albariño. #spanishwines #albariño #thisiswhatido — 8 years ago
Pairs extremely well with manchego and Parmesan reggiano. Do yourself a favor and pair this with charcuterie plate. Zippy, mineral, with notes of pineapple, apple & lemon. Drinks well alone, better with fatty cheese — 9 years ago
Reminiscent of glacier lettuce. Drying. This + oysters = the truth. Sometimes it's good to do different. — 9 years ago
With pan seared burgers and shoestring potatoes. Why do ZIN when Petit Rouge is better — 9 years ago
Love dry wines and this is one of the best. Sadly, they do not sell them in the US. — 10 years ago
If you're not an aficionado of tannin you'll love this wine as much as I do. A French wine taster — 10 years ago
Listen......Malbec , for all its gratuitous idiosyncratic ways, should celebrate its pleasurable simplicities. Why hide the fact that you have a hot body and make young men weak in the knees?! Valle Escondido. One of the hidden treasures of Mendoza. One of the highest elevated vineyards in the DO. This is a friggin steal!! $9.99 are you outaa your mind?! Yes.......You're welcome — 10 years ago
I think I keep this for a special time :) how do I store it? Anyone out there.. — 11 years ago
What do we have here?!? — 11 years ago

Excelente vinho, com bastante fruta no aroma e no paladar. Lembra os bons Cabernets do Valle Central no Chile. — 9 years ago
eye level gravel with my hands dirty, nine pm, fifteen years, give or take, we wanted to carry, hold eachother, push, scared of what's to come and the 'what to do', i once told you, whispers, humming bird, beak-heart, "i would love to fast forward", and now, cliche on cliche, i just want to speak to you and imagine the 'what to do', clean hands at nine pm — 9 years ago
2014 vintage - lots of lemon/lime and orange blossoms. Some light effervescence and good acidity. From the Basto region of Vinho Verde, for what it's worth Delectable. — 10 years ago

This is actually from Valle Central, Chile (not California). I don't usually do Pinot Noir but I picked this up because 1. The label is pretty. 2. I like South American wines. 3. I love the name Smoking Loon. 4. It was $6 at Publix and that's about my wine budget. 5. What the heck I'll give Pinot another shot. The bottle says this medium body but it's fuller (heavier?) than any other Pinot I've had. There is something distinctively South American about it - it has that spicy undertone. I would describe the flavor as currant but I've also never had a currant so take that for what it's worth. Overall I'm very impressed and would buy again. — 10 years ago
Beautiful purple color, notes of toasted cherry. Smells like a fireplace. Great mouthfeel, deep blackberry nuances, balance between tannin and acidity — 10 years ago
45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Tannat, 10% Syrah. A interesting and much better option than the much more tannic "Intipalka Tannat Valle del Sol", so do not confuse them. The blending has watered down the tannins making this wine a delicious one — 11 years ago

Interestingly different Zin. Made with lots of restraint, in the non-interference style of the winery. Drinks more like a cabernet sauvignon almost. They do a cold maceration, so it's low and slow cooking and you get way more notes. — 8 years ago
