A wine we brought back from a wine bistro called Boconariz in Santiago a couple of years ago, this is absolutely terrific. Beautiful, intense red-purple color, the tannins are sweet and rich with a great hint of camphor on the nose. Well-integrated tannins with a rich mouthfeel, that camphor component is a bit more amplified on the palate, but not overwhelming by any means. Lingering, balanced finish. Hard to gauge how much longer this will continue to develop, but my guess is that’s it’s peaking right now. Terrific example of a carmenere! — 6 years ago
More orange than pink. Pretty bready on the nose, with aromas of cantaloupe, peaches and nectarines. Medium bodied with bright acidity and fine bubbles froth when swished. Flavors of strawberry candy, cantaloupe, and peaches. Takes a turn on the finish and goes citrusy with a mouthful of lime and yeast. — 7 years ago

Beauty. Earth, touch of smoke, ripe berries. — 6 years ago
Meaty, sour BBQ - think NC vinegar BBQ nose. Also nice floral notes. Apple, sweetness at first. Levels into the fruit flavors - strawberry, more apple. Very unexpected - savory nose, sweet taste. — 7 years ago

Valdivieso of Chile, central valley, Caballo Loco #8. 14% alc. This blend is unknown as the grapes are not mentioned on the bottle. The color is ruby red with a tint of brown like we see in most French wines. The bouquet is like an Italian Sangiovese with hints of blueberry pie and dandelions. The palate is characteristic of dark cherry and blueberry and a hint of dark currant. There is a slight hint of oak and moss. No spice, no other real flavors that I can detect. A very simple wine. The finish is quick and mildly dry. Not my favorite, but not bad for a South American wine. — 7 years ago
Color is almost as light as water. The nose is an assault of green pepper and freshly cut chives, backed up with grapefruit, clementine, and asparagus. On the palate it’s light bodied and crisp. The acidity is laid back. There’s flavors of passion fruit, lemon-lime soda, and a little splash of grapefruit. It finishes with lemon-lime soda and green pepper. — 7 years ago
Nice and mature Pinot. Good to drink even without food. Nice plum flavours and a fruity nose. — 9 years ago
