Tasted at a private seminar in SF with importer Terry Theise and it is showing amazingly well. Yet another example of the power of Riesling. This nearly 14-year-old Spätlese is still a toddler, not even approaching a tertiary stage any time soon. Golden straw color with great clarity, green reflections. Massive nose of smoke, slate, passion fruit, apricot and melon all coated in honey. The aromatics attack your palate from 8 inches away. 100 g/l RS, but impeccably balanced. This is what I adore about the great sweet Rieslings- the inherent sweetness lends wonderful body and texture and carries all the intensity of the fruit all the way through the finish which I find to be amazingly persistent. Loving the spice character in the mid palate and the lovely floral quality up front. This is a masterful Riesling from a top Nahe producer, and Meddersheimer is arguably one the top vineyards in this subregion. The mosaic of soil types here lend the wines a great deal of nuance and complexity and all different ripeness levels, but this is my favorite Spätlese from the Nahe at the present moment due to its outward and flamboyant nature. And the maturation is faster. For exemple, a 7 years old Kavalan Whisky will look like to a 18+ years old Scotch. Impressive.

Just 2 cl in the glass and ... explosion !
Old cedar, pine wood, nuts, fresh vanilla, passion fruit, mango and coconut, red fruits to !!. Original.
Love it !

59.4% alcool.... strong, but fatty, so easy to drink. Red fruits, cherry, pine wood, exotics fruits : mango and passion fruit.
Nice balance, you can feel a little sweet sensation.
The finish : cassis, dark chocolate and leather.
Long, very long.

An impressive whisky with high density and good complexity. Best whisky in the world??? That's totaly subjective. For me ? No, but one of the best i ever tried !

Now, in France the price is around 250 euros. Dont know for other country.

Taïwan est une île au Sud Est de la Chine.
La distillerie Kavalan se situe au Nord Est.
Climat chaud et humide.
La part des anges est de 10% par an, par comparaison, elle est de 1% en Écosse.
La maturité y est aussi plus rapide, un whisky de 7 ans est comparable en complexité à un whisky de plus de 18 ans en Écosse !

Alors !? Meilleur whisky du monde 2015 ?
Qu'en est-il ?

Après avoir juste versé 2 cl dans mon verre, le bouquet à littéralement envahi la pièce.
Vieux cèdre, sapin du sud-ouest, aiguilles de pin. La noix, gousse de vanille, Fruits rouges. Puis, très exotique, sur la mangue, le fruit de la passion et la noix de coco. On s'y perd ! Puissance aromatique énorme !

59.4% c'est beaucoup! Mais finalement quelle douceur, c'est gras.
Les arômes de cerice et de fruits rouges lancent le bal, le sapin, les fruits exotiques : mangue et fruits de la passion.
La finale s'étire très longuement sur le cassis cuit, le chocolat noir, le cuire et la banane flambée.

C'est très impressionnant !

Alors meilleur whisky du monde 2015 ??? C'est une question de goût ;, subjectif.
Pour moi, non, mais fait parti des meilleurs whiskys que j'ai pu déguster à ce jour.

Un grand whisky ! Comptez 250 euros en France....

Wow, this is a wine to ponder. Is it too much with its oxidized nature? Or, is it an amazingly tantalizing, earthy, mouthcoating orange wine? I kept going back to the glass, so the answer should speak for itself. This is a powerful wine with an amazingly long finish. It's not for the casual drinker looking for a Pinot Grigio. Pair this with strong flavored foods--cheeses, white Mexican sauces, vegetarian dishes, roasted white meats, lechon asado. This is a wine for passion. — 11 years ago

8 months later ... Light, cloudy ruby ​​color (unfiltered) ... the nose is a floral explosion on a beautiful bouquet: Lilies, peony, rose. The mouth is slightly sparkling at the opening, proof that the wine lives: no sulfur added (or very little, at the time of bottling certainly). With exuberant floral notes, the mouth adds the roundness of an explosive fruity, typical of strawberry, jammy raspberry. The texture is supple, silky, and digestible. Magnificent "natural" wine, entry-level cuvée, by one of the great craftsmen of Beaujolais. Delicious as an aperitif, light or Italian cuisine, or over fish.

8 mois après... Robe rubi légère, trouble (non filtré)... le nez est une explosion florale sur un beau bouquet de Lys, pivoine, rose. La bouche est légèrement perlante à l’ouverture, preuve que le vin vit: pas de souffre ajouté (ou très peu, au moment de la mise en bouteille certainement). Aux notes florales exubérantes, la bouche ajoute la rondeur d’un fruité explosif, typé fraise, framboise confiturés. La texture est souple, soyeuse, et digeste. Magnifique vin « nature » cuvée d’entrée de gamme, par l’un des grands artisans du Beaujolais. Délicieux à l’apéritif, cuisine légère, italienne, ou sur un poisson. — 6 years ago

BIG Sauvignon! If I didn't know better I'd think a NZ example. I love the unfiltered unadulterated nature of this. I know the tropical fruit (pineapple and passion fruit), some nectarine, and asparagus notes are true. This is a FULL one. Citrus too, particularly on the nose I get Meyer lemon. And I love a nice white wine full of clouds and texture. Why save that for orange and red wines? I am into it so thank you @Paul T for steering me this way...I will be trying Bevan pinots in a few when they have had settling time!! — 9 years ago

C'est dans le village de Solutré-Pouilly, situé dans la région du Mâconnais en Bourgogne, que la famille Plumet réalise de la magie au Domaine du Chalet Pouilly. Ce domaine ne se revendique d'aucun mouvement, ni d'aucune communauté. Ils font du vin. Depuis 1850. Autant dire que le temps et le respect des pratiques de cette période font partie intégrante de la culture du domaine et qu'elles l'ont toujours été.

Dégustons : notre superbe victime se nomme Saint-Véran 2013 et autant le dire de suite, ce 100% Chardonnay balance : Waouh! Waouh! Waouh! (3 fois)

Des vignes d'une cinquantaine d'années produisent ce jus envoutant, issu d'un élevage en cuve inox pendant 8 mois environ.
La couleur est paille, le nez floral avec un soupçon de pain légèrement beurré. En bouche, la précision est phénoménale. Le vin est superbement équilibré et rien ne semble laissé au hasard. Finesse et délicatesse s'allient sur une minéralité citronnée qui impose une longueur fort agréable. Ce vin coule avec tant d'aisance et de délicatesse qu'on prend alors conscience que la bouteille du doux breuvage est déjà vide ;)

Syrahre - Jolly Ferriol - Jean Luc Chossart

Il est rare qu'un Syrah délivre autant de fraîcheur. Il est aussi rare que ce cépage soit aussi léger, tendre et glou-glou. Attention, cette fraîcheur n'est pas ici une faiblesse. Bien au contraire, elle révèle une dimension unique, qu'on ne lui connaît que peu souvent.

Le nez reste sur le fruit mûr, généreux en soleil, dans un registre de fruits noirs.

En bouche, le tout fonctionne à plein et c'est ainsi qu'on découvre l'identité singulière de ce jus, franc et généreux, simple et nature.

Pas de vanille exubérante, pas de tanins excessifs, pas de barrique à gogo, non, tout n'est ici que franchise et honnêteté. Jean Luc Chossart, l'artisan vigneron, souhaite partager le travail de son sol, de la plante, du soleil, du fruit et toute la magie que possède dame nature et qui n'est que poésie à nos yeux.

C'est sans doute cette rareté, qui nous échappe trop souvent et avec laquelle ce Syrahre est réalisée.
