From the winery owned by Mike Grgich. A blend of Plavac Mali from Dingac and Trstenik.
Appearance: Maroon with brown rim
Nose: Red fruit, green twig, and rich earthy notes.
Taste: Prune, raisin, savoury spice, and game. Persistent, elegant finish supported by mature and sweet tannins
Conclusion: Delicious, juicy wine with good structure. Will buy it over and over again. — 10 years ago
So nice to see this former winter staple in these sunny climes. Calcium bone wash with ginger-allspice banana bread exhale from the glass. Gingerbread, brittle, waxy twine, darkened toast come together in a pointy green tobacco. #boulevardbrewing #winterwarmer #KC — 10 years ago

Monsanto's 2009 Chianti sports notes of earth, forest branches and red berries, and anise. On the palate, bright, mouthwatering acidity and grippy tannins, followed by preserved meat, rose hips and Kuchika Twig tea. I would hold this one for at least another five years or so. — 12 years ago
2014
smells of wet fertile soil, animal, red cherry, some red licorice
flavors show tart cherry, dried strawberry, licorice, peeled twig, earth, a little leather... frankly disappointing given the $$$ behind it. — 10 years ago
Rasp- and strawberries, cedar and pine/twig notes. Deliciously fine tannins softly coat the mouth and proceed to expose berry and forest aspects. A lingering finish. — 10 years ago
Sour cherry, twig, stone, very elegant, particularly for Cab Franc. Great with a little chill. — 10 years ago
Crazy hazelnuts and burnt twig on the nose. Bright intense minerality and acidity right away after opening — 11 years ago
Nose has great mix of kola spice and foxy twig. Palate is slightly blunt but has refined tannin and lush dark fruit — 11 years ago
A great little pinot noir with a bright light purple core & fresh aromas of cherry, twig & slate. Moderate alcohol & fresh flavors of crushed wild cherry & a lucious dab of earthy oak. Acidity is well balanced & the length & finish are moderate. Drink now - 2019. — 12 years ago
So good, just look for the bottle with the twig!!!! — 13 years ago
Dark purple color. Wonderous chalky, gritty mouthfeel. Charred twig and forest floor. — 10 years ago
Juicy, crisp apples, ripe plums, rich, but with a bite, like a spritz of icy snow stinging your cheeks when a corner is rounded. But this tastes like autumn- not winter. It evokes the rich orange of an oak leaf- not a bare twig. — 10 years ago
Tons of American oak. It's like chewing on a twig! — 11 years ago
Very good Zinfandel — 13 years ago
kasimir bujak
