Just an incredible expression of natural wine. Handpicked, destemmed, old vine zweigelt and cab franc (50-50). Lightly pressed, no racking, no filtering and no sulphur added. Initial brettyness blows off in 1-2 minutes what folllows is waves of ethereal dried cherry, raspberry, Szechuan peppercorn, roasted pepper and beetroot. The pallet is reminiscent of pomegranate, cherry and humid earth. Otherworldly balance between the acid and tannins lead you gently into a finish that lingers long enough to make you smirk. Delicious and heady, but not heady enough to remove you from the pleasure of drinking it. — 8 years ago
