Pick some Italian herbs, grab some fresh soil and smash them together. What a great nose on this wine. Silk on the palette and a nice, somewhat abbreviated finish — 8 years ago
Seems to have lost a bit of fruit on the front end but lots of tertiary things going on here. Still had some life left in it! Out of a magnum too. — 9 years ago
Lives up to the hype. If you drink $60 Napa Cabs on the reg, you absolutely have to have the best Oak Knoll has to offer. Beats the Hell out of Trefethen. Looking forward to the white blend, which I purchased at the same time.
Dark, brilliant reflectivity, with a very bright purple rim. Dusty, yet velvety tannins, some tea leaf, blackberry compote, violets, perfume wafts out of the glass. Ability of this is in the classic range. A good decade on its side, could really show well with time. It's a rockstar now, don't get me wrong, just had a lot of potential. Absolutely ridiculous payout for a few Jacksons as of 2016. — 9 years ago

Jammy and fruit forward with a smooth finish — 8 years ago
Very ripe blackberries, mocha, current and pencil lead. Mostly Malbec but surprisingly complex and well balanced — 9 years ago
The other reviews on this wine are bullshit. Medium to full-bodied, fruit forward with a dry finish. Drink it, you won't regret it. — 9 years ago

This is a great wine. Goes wonderfully with seafood grilled or cooked with light sauces — 11 years ago
My contribution to the evening - very Bordeaux styled with the main difference being the crazy Pyrazines in the aroma. 60% new French oak and 40% neutral oak barrel aging, with 91% Sauvignon Blanc, ending in Semillon and Muscat, 100% estate fruit, made by Kristen Belair, who spent time making wine at Turnbull, and Trefethen. Most guessed Bordeaux graves. Excellent wine and not what I expected. Kind of funky on the nose too, so though it is a pale, and light colored wine... it could actually use light decanting to let the funk and pyrazine burn off just a tad. — 7 years ago

ONEHOPE - Trefethen collaboration, fantastic 2012 cab, big fruit forward wine, pairs well with my steak tonight. — 9 years ago
Port light, sooo perfect for thanksgiving feast!!! — 9 years ago
Tasting notes from the Fort Worth Food & Wine Festival...
This, along with the Trefethen Dragon's Tooth, were the winners of the night for me. Dark fruits but in no way overbearing. Lengthy and enjoyable finish. — 10 years ago
This is made from a vineyard east of trefethen — 12 years ago

A big oil’ Napa Cab. My future father in law bought this bottle when Emma and I got engaged at Trefethen in 2017.
Perfectly balanced, which is necessary because the amount of new French oak leaves a serious impression. This was a great wine with Swedish meatballs and gravy. Definitely enjoy with a rich meal. — 7 years ago
