Really interesting white blend made by devout Cistercian sisters at Monastero Trappiste. Its a deep golden color, showing the 1 week of skin contact. Almost an orange wine. Herby and floral, smells like an aged autumn garden. Chamomile, almonds, and citrus notes. Unsurprisingly savory but still refreshing. (Btw- Love the label.) — 8 months ago

Opened and decanted shortly before dinner; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2019 pours a very rustic looking, deep straw bordering gold color; medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with lovely notes bruised and dried fruits: dried apricot, bruised yellow apple, candied oranges, yellow flowers, herbaceous (rosemary?), and old wood. And yet there’s a freshness there that is undeniable. On the palate, the wine is dry with low tannin and medium + acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is very long. Another vintage of Lapideus and another beauty from Giampiero. These wines make me think and each time I get to enjoy one, I’m reminded of why wine can be so special. Drink now through 2029. It’s a very good but I also acknowledge I’m not a Trebbiano fan — 3 months ago
Light, crispy, and smooth. Doesn’t taste like cheap wine, but affordable $15 — 4 months ago
Amazing. Bone dry, floral, citrus zest and a richness/texture that only skin contact allows. Perfect match for mushroom asparagus risotto. — 6 months ago

Nice light, floral bouquet. Some may take this wine as one dimensional due to the prominent pear. But definitely has notes of almond and vanilla with pineapple in the aftertaste. Crisp, with medium acidity. Great by itself, excellent with seafood. — 5 years ago
