Had the 2023 in January of 2025. First sip out of the glass was strange. Kind of sour fruit, butter and wood. Gave it time to breathe and swirled in the glass and then it was really good. Light fruits- dark cherry and blackberry. Hints of wood and leather in the finish. I always tend to jump right in. Have a decanter but don’t always head to it based on other people’s comments, I probably should have! But time in the glass was kind. Was a very interesting wine that I would love to have again. — 9 months ago
Wonderful wine still vibrant like an old Bordeaux but an ahhso would have been helpful — 4 years ago
Albana and Emila forever — 5 years ago
A rush of ripe red berry fruits waft from the glass, as licorice, sweet spice, and rosy florals join the mix. Silky textures envelope the senses, finishing with saline minerals and youthful tannin. Wow this Emilia-Romagna Sangiovese is an unreal value. $17.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2020) — 5 years ago
Excellent desert wine Fiola Washington — 6 years ago
Tobacco, burnt ash, touch of cranberry with some VA at the beginning that blew off. Barolo is always impressive. 2 worlds in one. What you see is what you don’t get. This fits the bill. Good value as well. W/ ribeye, mushrooms, truffle oil. — 7 years ago
2021 vintage. A bit of everything. Esteemed producer. Excellent nose. Front-palate richness. Mid-palate power and presence. Pleasantly astringent and beyond substantial finish. I usually eschew Barbera d'Alba for the resto list but couldn't deny this one. Picked up two cases and may pick up more to have laying around for 1.5-2 years. At the ridiculous resto price of $26.67, I can't afford not to. So delicious. 01.29.25. — 8 months ago

Going through the stash gladly quickened by Fung and this was another oldie — 9 months ago
Aged in 500 and 1000l tonneaux and botte. More complex but maintains the house style for Nebbiolo with a more skeletal presentation. About 30 days in skins and shows the slightly more rusty color thisb exteneded maceration might suggest Some might say delicate/aromatic and polished, I want a little more primary fruit. — 3 years ago
Dolcetto with some spine. Attack no impressive, but kicks into gear mid palette and finish. Impressive dolcetto. $35 — 5 years ago
