Tre Vigne Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Great steak wine. Not as elegant as other vintages but good energy and fruit.

These have always been fun to drink, but for some reason this one had more age in the aroma and flavors than I expected. Decanted for over an hour, but showed brown edges and could have had a little more acidity.

Drank 4/27/17 with homemade pasta. Wonderful, classic Brunello.

Starting to drink very well, with as always an almost delicate, beautifully mid weight expression of Sangiovese. Transparent, elegant, with pure red cherries and prominent mineral and underbrush notes. Drink now or soon, though I'm curious how it will evolve as this gains a bit of weight with air.

Blend of three vineyard plots belong to the winery, dark garnet in color, bacon, fig, plum, tobacco, and even a slight hint of blue cheese, very structured wine with firm but delicate tannin, will resolve more in the next few years, an elegant style with a long finish.

Now we are talking :) very floral and with a bit spice, good match with Australian wagyu beef
