Hard to express how good this was. Somehow this bottle managed to retain all of what was likely great about it on release (acid balance, snappy minerality) and just ADD complexity and length. Stunning. Very long finish which tempered mushrooms and choose your own umami with a painful tidal pool and steely finish. The Eddy w/ C&C — 8 years ago
More body than 2015 but still very pretty with more blue fruits, not overly complex, just fun easy going drinking. Give it a chill. 12% abv. — 9 years ago
Mau Lea Tom all thought this was the best one of the evening. Lea said this was one of the staff picks under $20 at the liquor store near Mau's work. — 9 years ago
Tour de force. Beautiful expression of purity of (dark) fruit with complex notes of tea, herbs and more (writing this by memory). Going to be even more incredible in a few years. Enjoyed at the Futo estate with the best company. IMO, Tom is making some of the very finest wine in the valley. — 9 years ago
Yum! Not a huge fan of hops or bold beer but this is DELICIOUS!!! — 10 years ago
Great natural craft beer...the cloudy pour reminds me of Belgian natural yeasty draft...not too much citrus but still crisp with a depth that lingers... — 10 years ago

Fridays are for Franc! And I. LOVE. THIS. WINE. I could not believe the aromatics that exploded from the bottle when I pulled the cork. Seriously it was like there was a blueberry pie baking in the kitchen. Decanted for an hour or so. Deep magenta in the glass. Loads of Cherry and blueberry on the palate mingle with vanilla, chocolate, herbs, and earth - very rich, but so incredibly balanced at the same time. I’ve been a longtime fan of Detert wines and this very well may be my favorite vintage of their Franc to date. I’m just wowed. Can’t wait to revisit this again and see how it evolves. Really well done @Tom Garrett (as always). — 7 years ago
1st 2017 juice for me, Tom is gifted, this wine is joyful, like Beaujolais nouveau for Australia. Not so much Poulsard like this year but absolutely lovely, light and pretty, of course nothing like your typical Barossa Shiraz, a good wine to blow your Aussie palate friend's minds with. — 8 years ago
I kept wanting to sing "I dont pop molly I rock Tom Gore". Really interesting blend and enjoyed this, the tempranillo was noticeable and a welcome twist on the classic meritage. Needs a couple more years to meld, but I would buy this if I ever see it. — 8 years ago
Citrus, melon and very nice on the tip — 9 years ago
2005. Outstanding. Definitely new world Cabernet, lovely cassis and tobacco. Length plus — 9 years ago
Light, but substantial, beautiful toasted gold color, lively balanced hops, smooth finish. Very glad we happened upon this little brewery during our visit to the Dingle Peninsula. — 9 years ago
Full purple color and a great nose if cherry, licorice and smoke. On the palate was full of rich red fruits with a mineral undertone. — 10 years ago

Very approachable. Evolution of this bottle was over a 4 hour decant. First taste at opening, was tight dense gorgeous fruit, cassis, cigar, stone, and crisp Howell air. Second taste an hour later was bigger, bold, strong ruby fruit, less cigar but tobacco was still there. The fruit became longer on the finish and the density was so sexy. Taste like how you encounter sexiness tasting. Rudy, Tom, Michael and Red Cap Fam doing it really really well! — 7 years ago
Barnyard funk nose. Dark cherry, vanilla, spice and minerals on the palate. Moderate tannins and acid in the finish. — 8 years ago
Lively, dynamic with a playful bite — 8 years ago
There are many sweet tea vodkas out there. This one is exceptional and by far my favorite. — 8 years ago

This 2007 vintage To Kalon is in peak performance mode. Kick-ass for a Monday night fine dining wine, celebrating daughter's big birthday. - Tasted April 2015. Yeehaw! I will miss Tom Rinaldi as former winemaker. — 10 years ago
