Just, just... just wonderful.
Initially, I get quince and a slight licorice that isn’t overpowering. Peach, of course.
The intangible here is just the well rounded character of the whole thing. It’s hard to nail down, but it’s got this savory, sweet, umami, bitter, acid quality to it that just brings a sip to the very edge of paradise as a flavor, a taste, an experience.
I’m glad I went for the gold here. I love drinking the canned sake and the 300 mL bottles when I’m going solo, so I upped the ante a bit and went for the mid-tier higher selection and it paid off. — 5 years ago
Very good warm sake. Smooth finish with a hint of licorice. Will definitely have again. — 7 years ago
Drank over 6 weeks opened in my fridge and it stayed fresh throughout. Richly layered aromas and flavors of chocolates, pistachio, green grapes, and honeydew melon with floral undertones. Savory but offset by some residual sugar. Sufficiently robust for the main course. Really nice. — 7 years ago
Very sweet. Clean taste. Slight bite at the end. — 9 years ago

Tentaka Shuzo, Tentaka Kuni, "Hawk in the Heavens." Tochigi Pefect, Junmai Sake. My wife loved this with Sushi. Pretty fragrant with subtle hints of berries. Only had a small sip as she didn't want to share. — 10 years ago
Creamy and smooth, an inexpensive but tasty Nigori — 10 years ago

Great JDG for the price. Melon, pumpkin, mushrooms on the nose. Clean slightly peppery finish. — 8 years ago
Awesome saki, not too sweet, best chilled. — 9 years ago
Not a flowery saki. This one has a 'brewed' taste. Very good with the spicy items with its lingering oolong tea aftertaste. — 10 years ago

Mellow and smooth we take it. I feel the need for food with this beverage and fortunately some sauerkraut sandwiches and hand rolls did ok for simple finger foods...but I feel like some more meaty food is needed here to flesh out the better nuances available in this drink, and some rice, of course. Preparedness is key, be forewarned. Greatness abounds and I was not prepared to handle this beautiful woman the way she wanted. — 11 years ago

Excellent sake — Asian pear, green apple, very nice fruit. Highly recommend! — 8 years ago
Candylike aromas on the nose of pear and red apple, bubblegum, cherry blossom. Sweet cherry blossom and honey on the palate with a big dose of anise, red and black licorice. Pure and crystalline but just a bit oversweet and medicinal to me. — 9 years ago
Very good Yamahai.
Steamed rice, nectarines and grass on the nose, with roasted chestnuts on the palate. Rich and luscious. — 10 years ago
