Decanted for 2 hours. Still big, no signs of fading. Did not drink enough before it was consumed to review properly, but seemed a touch sweet. — 3 years ago
First, this wine was previously in a grey bottle, Why? Beginning with the 2017 vintage, the wine is in a clear bottle, which to me has a much better appeal, to see the wine! Fruit sourced from Monterey County, pale lemon-lime color with aromas of tropical and citrus fruits and slight biscuit notes. This wine is unoaked and fermented in stainless and concrete tanks. On the palate, crisp, with flavors of apple, melon and peach adding in some citrus zest. Balanced acidity, medium body and finish ending slightly on the creamy side. Drink young while its fresh! Intense ripe fruit and powerful structure! — 7 years ago

Pretty solid. It definitely kept me coming back for more. It has been a while since a big Cab Sauv has made my taste buds perk up. — 11 years ago
Englishman Jonathan Maltus (of La Dome) Napa project. Nose shows blackcurrant, plum, cassis, pencil shavings, and clove with a herbaceous undertone. Juicy with medium to full body. Velvety tannins. Stylish, but lacking a bit of depth and complexity. — 9 months ago
Dark ruby with bold, intense juicy dark cherries, blackberries, plums, spice and oak on the nose. Medium body and medium tannins that give room to a nice acidity. Cherry pie, dark berry jam, tobacco, bayleaf and clove on the palate lead to a beautiful medium long finish with notes of caramel. Beautiful wine with complex notes that keeps evolving as it decants. — 4 years ago
Nose has mashed blackberry, ripe black current, ripe black cherry, wet saddle leather, horse barn, dried mint, fried green herbs, chopped bacon, muddy garden soil, constantly developing...
Palate has mahogany shavings, black cherry 🍒, dried garden soil, day old bacon bacon 🥓, over-ripe black currant, warm dark chocolate, (minor) baking spice with a very long and intense finish. This wine has at least a decade in front of it tonight. Perfect, supple cork on extraction.
Still quite tannic, decanted 4h, needs much more time to reveal it's true self.
My retailer commented this was not a standard CA Cabernet, more Bordeaux-like, and he was fully on point. The stink on the nose really pointed us away from CA right away.
Paired to some expertly grilled, medium-rare Delmonico steaks from my favorite, local farmer in Columbia Co. NY (Kinderhook Farm), well salted (in advance). Finished with Maldon smoked sea salt, best which exists in the world, IMHO. Also roasted beets with goat feta from VT, where I can only image goats listen to Phish and eat Ben & Jerry's ice cream daily, because only a stress free life like that could yield cheese this good.
I'd like to know the blend on this, should anyone know, I can't believe it's 100% Cab based on the stinky nose, which we appreciate. — 5 years ago
An absolute beauty. The perfume on this thing is exquisite. Violets, spicy pepper, and smokey bacon fat. Palate has a nice twist of funk at this early stage and ends with a solid tannic presence. I would blind this against any american syrah and guarantee it would hold its own, craziest part is it will only continue to develop. — 6 years ago
Prune, baking spice. A little young but one to watch. — 8 years ago

Magical. Concentrated white grape herbaceousness slight hint of vanilla and fantastic acidity. Comes back up your throat with a kiss that lingers and linger. Bravo Genevieve! — 10 years ago
This was the 2011 PH Beckstoffer Tokalon. Superbly constructed. Layers of fruit and subtle tannins. Approachable but deep and distinct. I can't wait for the opportunity to taste this again. Highly recommended purebred California Cab. — 11 years ago
Bold cab flavors.... — 5 years ago
Fresh berries, pomegranate, black currants, with hint of cacao and chalkiness on the finish. Light and easy to drink with mild tannins. Valdiguie shines through. — 6 years ago

Full lush yummy. The wine speaks for itself. — 8 years ago
So excited. This was snappy and fresh. A whole mixed case to enjoy ahead of me — 11 years ago
Gas discharge on opening, first sip from can light bodied & kinda fruity (hard to taste). In glass, beautiful red violet in color, nice clean raspberry on nose & pallet. Soft & fruity, no metallic taste, easy going casual Pinot. Bravo Union Wine Co. ! Giving you max rating for making wine more approachable to non wine drinking demographic & casual wine consumer. — 11 years ago

Dare I coin a phrase for this 2018 wine? Hedonistic. Over the top but well done. — 9 months ago
