Has aged quite well but on the verge. — 8 years ago
2006. Past its prime. Sat for years. Day 3 now and it's shot. Day one it was on the verge of being shot. Dark fruit, inky. — 9 years ago
2005 vintage. At Texture. On the verge of deep ruby. Big powerful whiff of smoke, reductiveness, black fruits, sweet spice and Oakwood. On the palate rich and spicy, deep concentration, noticeable tannic structure. Medium plus finish. This is another big wine from this producer. Not really my style: hammer to crack a nut stuff. — 10 years ago
Burleed pineapple, white peach and apricot. Viscous on the verge of syrupy but the acidity keeps it lively. Decades of life ahead — 10 years ago
All biodynamic which is quite impressive. The nose shows notes of extremely ripe black fruits (blueberries, blackberries, plums, currants) spice, oak, vanilla, sweet tobacco. On the verge of jammy but still has structure. — 11 years ago
Massive, powerful but balanced. Mountain Dry Creek fruit. Still got some time but drinking really well — 11 years ago
Great champs. Super balanced but not exaggerated. Very bread on the verge o cherry kernels. Dry n nice. — 8 years ago
Fragrant, with black cherry, ripe pomegranate and cranberry sauce demanding recognition. A generous touch of dark roses and dried lavender fall to tobacco leaf, gun smoke, and clove. Zippy and even on the verge of austere. Chewy and muscular tannins provide support for an expressive, spicy, and puckering finish. A slight hint of addictive creaminess makes its presence on the nose and palate. Mainly, this is "new" old world style; the fruit has been elevated. Delicious right now. However, this could use some time to develop. Great effort here. — 8 years ago
Too young. Needs 5-10 years. However, with 2 hours of air, this is amazing already. Huge fruit, long finish. Alcohol is clearly high but you don't taste it. A great wine just on verge of being too huge. Should age as long as you like — 9 years ago
very mature on the verge of old. light red currant needs to breathe abit acid at end — 9 years ago
Still very primary - potential on the verge of breaking through — 9 years ago
On the verge of being too ripe, this is youthful with black balsamic fruits dominating the aroma and taste. A nice mouthful of wine; and will improve further over time. — 10 years ago
Excellent wine. Beautiful floral notes and black fruits on the nose. Beautiful balance with mildly rustic tannins, balanced acidity, and beautiful fresh fruit. The tannins verge on grippy and balance out a wet earth minerality. Really enjoyable. — 11 years ago
I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but this is really damn good. Sous bois, cranberry & pomegranate fruit, a bit of stems, and some oak on the verge of disappearing. — 12 years ago
Check the pedigree on day three.) 2010. Flamboyant fruit formed by super ripe cherries, mulberries and strawberries, framed by volatile acidity and funky big casks. On the verge of old school, artisanal craftsmanship. Really fresh and moreish even at 14,5% alc. tag. — 8 years ago
Somewhat sweet like a zin but not overbearing. Tasty! Semi seems like its ok the verge of giving me a headache, but will find out later 😜 — 9 years ago
Toasted popcorn kernels on the verge of popping, coconut, golden raisin, white yogurt on nuts, nougat, unripe pineapple, light canteloupe, stewed pear, steely minerality, roasted nuts, L-M bodied on the palate with M+ acid and a dry, tart finish. Complex and interesting. Delicious. 4.0 — 9 years ago
Nice savory notes of sandalwood, balsamico and blue fruits. It's on the verge of old age but remains a pleasant mouthful with good acidic lift and freshness. Drink now. The 1996. — 10 years ago
1996 vintage. Great wine. Good primary fruits. But complex. Nice finish. On the verge of excellence. — 10 years ago
On the verge of greatness. — 11 years ago

BBQ smoke, hot espresso beans, black cherry paste lead a lifted and broad, completely integrated beam of burnt strawberry, pipe tobacco and dark cassis. 60 second finish was interfered only with an imperative to go back for more. Fully resolved and at its peak, cork on the verge of danger. Unreal. — 7 years ago
