This wine is BIG, juicy, full of fruit. A little spicy on the finish but overall very smooth and enjoyable. Great with a spicy salami or pepperoni. Looking forward to a return trip to Paso Robles very soon. — 9 years ago

2012 Vintage. The best Bolgheri on this trip. Great QPR. Fruit, structured and complexity. Nice! — 10 years ago
Acid trip is right. Yet it is savory. There is a Honeyed edge to the lemons that keeps this interesting and lively. Day 2 was the best. — 10 years ago
Updating some tasting notes after my trip to Napa a few weeks back.
Toss up between this and the Verasion Cab...this one has a longer finish, and that's fine by me. — 10 years ago
Fantastic price/quality. One of the best wines of the trip. — 8 years ago
Purchased at the winery, a favorite from a Piedmonte trip. Nose of cool plum, cracked pepper, dark berry fruit and leather. Palate is juicy and rich, with a balance of acidity and chalky tannins. Licorice and forest berries bounce around. More complexity than other examples from the region. Outstanding QPR. — 8 years ago
Nice sweet red. Almost like a red wine cooler. I really liked it, but probably Bobbie wouldn't drink it very much otherwise. We drank this on our Kona "weekend" trip at while at Paniolo Greens. — 9 years ago
Favorite Pinot from my trip to Oregon. — 10 years ago
We brought a bottle back from our trip to Tuscany. Absolutely delicious. 2010 — 10 years ago
Beautifully balanced Brunello! Barbi certainly has a special space in my heart as I visited that winery with my wife during our first joint trip to Italy! 2008 is ready but could certainly lay for 5/7 more years in my option before losing some main vintage character — 10 years ago
brought this back from Bordeaux and still think about that trip! — 8 years ago
Undiluted Ribena and spices + some dying flowers, super velvety. This is a trip. — 8 years ago

From our trip last summer to Montalcino, a stunner, wish Chef Nash Cognetti's Rabbit Pappardelle, awesome. — 11 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
‘Las Alturas' Spanish for 'the heights', a fitting name, this vineyard located on one of the highest grape-growing benches in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. 4th gen Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner from a family with farming and winemaking roots in Napa since 1906. Met Joe on his recent trip to CT. Had this in FL eating dinner on the water! Deep Ruby (darkest Pinot I have come across, almost looks like a Cab). Rich berry flavors with cedar, spice and vanilla. Lingering ending with sweet oak notes. Nice! A Fav! — 8 years ago
