Exceptional, one of the best wines we had the entire week. Touriga Nacional is not seen as a great grape by some in the Douro vinified on its own, but for my palate I think it has great potential in the US market as a single varietal. I love the Douro blends, by far the best wines I had on average we the blends. But I'm just saying.... As for the wine this had a velvety red robe color on the edges with a solid red core. The nose was so expressive, persistent but elegant. Very perfume like as it was by far the wine I spent the most time smelling. The palate was just as the nose was, elegant and persistent with red fruits like bing cherry, sweet tobacco, a touch of cream and a nice streak of earthy flavors sail to a long finish with very present but caressing tannins.
