Blackberries and dark cherries on the nose. Light to medium tannins. Very balanced with smooth mouthfeel and a nice finish. I would buy this again. LCFanFave — 8 years ago

If I didn't know better, I'd think I was smelling actual perfume. Very light body and medium-plus acidity. Tart cherry. To simplify, I feel like I'm chewing flowers or ingesting the air in the cosmetics department at Neiman Marcus. Still, different than anything I've had before and I'd be interested in pairing it with food. — 10 years ago
Wow, a marvelous and unexpected quartet of "white" wines (including white no skin Pinot Noir!) that makes for a spectacular blend, more like avant garde string quartet than a rock band, with dazzling aromatics and a plush structure from Pinot Blanc. My first time tasting Marcus Goodfellow's wines at Matello. The fact he also finds Viognier & Syrah in North Willamette and crafts remarkably true to terroir wines makes this a winery to follow! — 11 years ago

Our table of BCWAS insiders were anxiously waiting to try this Syrah from one of Canada's newest Masters of Wine. I'm thinking that drinking it on its own with a big hunk of meat would bring out the complexity more than getting a small pour after 7 other wines.
Will watch for this new entrant on the Okanagan scene tho. — 11 years ago

Have had this same wine twice before. 5 years ago, it was one of the best wines I had at the time - was drinking beautifully. 1-2 years ago, was very nice but not as impressionable. Last night, this was big, jammy, creamy, dark chocolately, velvety.... but didn't have the ripeness, focus, dark fruit core, or fresh spice I remember. Possibly corked? Where's @Marcus Marquez when you need him... — 9 years ago
Frederick Corkrum played football for Whitman College in Walla Walla where he graduated in 1921. And apparently Whitman was the last undefeated college basketball team this year until their loss a few hours ago in the DIII Final Four. So there's that...
As for the wine, it's 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, and 4% Malbec. Opens with a rustic nose of leather, cigar box, cinder block, dry earth, and cocoa powder, with muted cherry ever-present, but in the background. The Cab Franc really comes though on the palate, showing an herbaceous, grilled pepper edge. A classically styled representation of Bordeaux, but slender by comparison for Walla Walla. — 9 years ago
Otroligt pigg och frisk! Citrus, äpplen och mineralitet dominerar. En gnutta ursprungstypiskt oxiderad. Smarr — 10 years ago
