#SchlossSchönborn boasts a pretty serious track record of some 360 years and they totally understand the intricacies of late-picked Rieslings... Suffice it to say that this #GrandCru #Marcobrunn from the awesome late-harvest, #botrytis-infused vintage of #2006 is one of the glories of great German #Riesling... even in a half bottle this nectar has years of life ahead of it! #Auslese — 11 years ago
Very nice Northern Rhone Syrah. A little too simple on day one, but by day two lots of white pepper and even a little smoky bacon to complement the dark fruit core. Not especially dense, but everything is well balanced for an inexpensive bottle that hints at the glories of Côte Rotie. — 10 years ago
Drank a cheers in memory to my fallen New Orleans colleague, Chris Rudge of Bacchanal, as his second line was held Sunday. This is a favorite wine we all loved sharing with people. This year's has the same glories: quinine, brisk citrus pop, the joyful fizz that refreshes, and perhaps w a dollop of extra texture and a splash of density this year, or perhaps to remind us to love life now! Cheers, Chris, in gratitude of your Nola tribe you summoned together. — 11 years ago

The glories of Nebbiolo! I bought 3 bottles at the producer in 2011. Plenty of forest floor and great aromatics here. Great length. Two bottles left, not sure this has peaked yet. — 11 years ago
