Great Texas wine with a delicious tart cherry bouquet. Overall it’s pretty well balanced, light oak, tart cherry flavor, spicy, slightly acidic, and low tannins. The acid and spice are a bit out of balance but don’t let that discourage you it’s a delicious and unique wine. — 6 years ago
Great white wine. Aged in oak so pairs well with flank steak. — 7 years ago
Ratings are biased by the logo. Again this is a wine that would fetch 91 or 92 if served blind. Crisp front with green apple and a little bit a Buttah. The middle is a little more hefty, melon and honeydew. Finish is acidic. Lots of activity going on here. Wine went well with a Caesar salad and cheese. Better when served colder and without acoutrement. Our winner of the whites during the last visit. Great QPR. — 8 years ago
It’s Southold, so you know I’m in. Serious question for those in the know... is there another Texas producer doing the type of cool stuff that SF+C is? Because you can basically sign me up for a case right now. Døk picked up raisins and cherry cola and frankly that’s spot on. — 5 years ago
A little “funkier” than I’m used to, but still smooth and easy. Not too sweet. — 6 years ago
Winner of the Houston Rodeo best Texas wine. Great blend. Balanced nicely structured. Cherry prominent. Lasts in palate. Good with New Braunfels Smoke House ham. — 6 years ago
Vanilla and leather notes, creamy. Paired with beef tenderloin with squid ink fettuccini in white wine saffron sauce. Had at Pasteggiare Con Vino at ViniCulture: — 7 years ago
Brownwood 1 May 2018. Very nice! — 7 years ago
2016 Hensell Rose by Kuhlman. New release. Lots of bright acidity. Young strawberry, some watermelmon, citrus, and minerality, in the middle and finish. Crisp. Damn fine for a day like today. Winemaker from Provence France. 100% Mourvedre Rose, and absolutely beautiful wine for a day like today. — 8 years ago
If you haven’t tried Texas wine but do have very high standards, you must check out Kuhlman Cellars! Award winning Roussane is bright, crisp, with lingering smoothness that will delight your palette. The best combination of French and California right here, but from TX!! — 6 years ago
Great with our steak dinner — 6 years ago

My last of 3 rosés from Ron Yates winery (Cinsault, Grenache, Sangiovese). Another really nice TX rosé that I think is probably one of my favorites I’ve had from TX.
This and the Cinsault are tied in score for me, both being quite enjoyable. The Cinsault was a bit more “soft” and fleshy fruit skin driven. This Sangiovese is more full fruit on nose and palate. Lots of strawberry...strawberry cream, strawberry pie (I pick up even a note of crust/yeast) and peach skin. Really nice acidity (probably a tad less than the Grenache). Sweet nectar and agave. Stone fruit. Had the most “going on” than the others. Another nice one, @Ron Yates . — 7 years ago
Great Texas wine! — 7 years ago
OK, so the first one of the new vintage went down tonight! And, dare I say that I think that this one is going to hold just as well as the 2015. I still need to take one of these to the lockup. This seems to be a more acidic Viognier than the 2015. Mouthfeel on entry is thicker than the wine evolves to be. First is a lot of mango and a hint of kiwi, and ends with more acidic citrus notes with a hint of honeysuckle. Bought slightly more of this than the Roussanne. Haven't had any of that yet, but soon! — 8 years ago
I have posted the 2015, but not this one (to my knowledge). Whereas 2015 is definitely more strawberry crush and red fruited in general, this 2016 is more watermelon, pink grapefruit, and mango on the front. The wine is very acidic on the front. The wine is of medium weight with sharp acid. There is a little less fruit here than the 2015 overall. The wine is still rather solid to the finish with the watermelon and mango notes, some kiwi here as well. I think this has very good aging potential. I think the 2016 Rose wines from the TX Hill Country are all less strawberry on a whole. But all, with exception to one thus far, are pretty damn delicious. — 8 years ago

Regan Meador somehow quiets shouting grapes to a whisper. All Good Things is...all good things - a blend of Texas Tempranillo, Merlot, and Ruby Cabernet at about 11% - how he gets to these levels I have no idea. This is stemmy and light, brambly and harmonic. And you can taste the individual contributions - spiced cedar (Tempranillo), blackberry and raspberry jam (Merlot), and red currant cinnamon (Ruby Cab). — 5 years ago
