Here's a free lesson for you - the three fundamental things you look for in a vintage Barolo are curry powder, gun powder, and baby powder. This '98 vintage is a testament to why more producers should go back to the fundamentals. What makes this wine particularly unique is the producers ability to include MDMA without altering the mouthfeel. Excellent to pair with an overly cooked Trump steak showered in ketchup and lies. — 9 years ago

2005 magnificent, ripe fruit but in balance with fine tannin, wood, bright acidity. Still has a few more years before it goes over the edge. — 10 years ago
I think this was maybe 18$ retail when purchased. A true testament to the fact that you don't have to spend a lot of $$ on wine to lay it down. This is delicious. Still showing deep red, black primary fruit- chewy, and earthy - garrigue for days!! Well done Sylvian, bravo! — 10 years ago
Great restraint and balance, and great purity of fruit with virtually no trace of pyrazines -which was incredibly difficult to achieve in a vintage like 2011 is a testament to great winemaker and great fruit #winegamestong #corison — 11 years ago
Testament to Celia and just like the corra!! So much voluptuous fruit and acid. Carrying itself well now wih loads of berry and wood complexity. Buying the rest... — 11 years ago
Lots of lipid notes for an SB: candle wax, lemon curd, grapefruit beurre blanc. Totally opulent but not out of whack. A testament to 50+ year-old vines? Quite possibly... — 13 years ago
A beauty. Rich & elegant. Another testament to the magnificence of the '07s, which the experts hated at first. — 8 years ago
Celebrating the completion of the house renovation, April 2017. On decant, the bouquet was immediate and everywhere. This was awesome. Herbaceous and fruity. The colour was notably opaque. Amazing red berry/cocoa and the 50% merlot presence rounds out a very pleasing palate. Perhaps the best testament of all: Michelle asked me to buy this one again 😂 — 9 years ago
2013 was a great year in Napa; this bottle is a great testament to how great! — 9 years ago
Mouth-coating density. The thickness of the grape's skin has produced the rich, dark red colour... a testament to it's big, bold flavour. Viscous wine tears swirl down the sides of the wine glass - beautifully weighty. — 9 years ago
It is a testament to how much I enjoy wines from this small winery that you would ever find a Merlot so highly rated from the likes of me. That scene in Sideways, yep, that's me. This wine, however, is a wonderful example of terroir driven finesse (and it probably helps that it doesn't necessarily taste like a Merlot). — 9 years ago
In the old testament Moses sends two men forward to scout the promised land, they go and return carrying bunches of red grapes so large and god filled that they had to transport em hung unstemmed on a long pole carried on the shoulders of the two fellows. Proof they had been and seen the Promised Land ahead. If any grapes broke and that juice ran free down the pole and they, in their thirst, drank that broken juice, Chateau Unang was what it tasted like. — 10 years ago
This is my first Valentini but by no means my last. Honeyed, oxidative, earthy and saline aromas develop as the wine unfolds over an hour. Mystery shrouds the production techniques but one thing is clear: fruit selection is rigorous as is the winemaking. Described as a "natural" wine, the color is straw gold and the flavors quite fresh with good acidity and a textured non-bitter finish . Known as Ugni Blsnc in France, this wine is a testament to focused viticulture. Lovely. — 10 years ago
What a testament to great winemaking. Also think this is from the vineyards of the Gray family of Cowra Estate?? — 10 years ago
A testament to a visionary winemaker surrounded by people who want to join him in living the dream. Leather and liquorice on the nose, blackberries in the mouth and a long, velvety vanilla finish. Merci, Jean-Michel Comme. — 11 years ago
Totally surprised by the quality of this wine. This is the second vintage of Revana, I believe (with Heidi Barrett at the helm of the winemaking operation). The depth of this is impressive. If you read Heidi's notes from 2006, they apply 100% to how this wine is drinking now. Beautiful nose of cassis, tobacco, black cherry, and leather on the edge. On the palate, all of the aromas are there in addition to a wonderful dark chocolate flavor that persists throught the mid-palate and on to a seamless finish. I can't imagine this wine drinking any better than it is right now. A fantastic testament to the ability of CA cabs to age and achieve levels of complexity that make them worth the wait. Fantastic. — 8 years ago

A rare vintage where the Americans and the Europeans were in agreement that it was a five star year. Powerful yet elegant made in a neo-classical style that's pleasing from the first sip. Typical aromas of dried morello cherry, black tea, rosemary, plum, soy intermingle into a palate layered with delicious, refined cooperage that tastes decadent with every sip. Tons of complexity and character without any bitter bite or over assertive ripe fruit. 2 plants to make one bottle of this world class riserva. A beautiful testament to applied effort and viticultural knowledge. — 9 years ago
Very nicely balanced. Excellent value Chardonnay from Burgundy. Testament to the belief that buying the least expensive wine from incredible producers more often than not, pays off. — 10 years ago

Probably the best Cab Franc produced in Napa, this 2007 from Delectus is just terrific. Just the slightest hint of pepper on the nose, this wine is complex, elegant, and a testament to the fact that, given the right site, climate, and winemaker, you can make awesome cab franc in California. To be sure, these comments are specific to the 2007: I've never tasted its equal in other years. Terrific wine. — 10 years ago

A significant nod to Carl Lindner. Showed it amongst those drinking first growth and it went down a treat. Testament to great vineyards. Well done Carl Lindner! — 10 years ago
A full throttle powerhouse, coarsing with volcanic minerals and dark, plummy fruit. A bit of heat, but holds its weight well. Lovely nose of dried fall bouquet, sweet basil, clove and dusty plums. Plenty of tannin and acidity, built for the next 15 years. A testament to taurasi. — 10 years ago
A great testament to the aging potential of well made Washington State Wine. Made by Kendall Mix, former winemaker of Corliss and Goose Ridge — 11 years ago
A sumptuous testament to the possibilities of blending. 50% Zin, 37% Cab, 13% Petite Sirah. Those three notes produce a remarkably harmonious chord — 12 years ago

Better on Day 2. Abundant red fruit, some smoked meat, bacon, garrigue...tremendous value for $25 and better than previous three vintages IMO. This is a testament to the strength of the 2015 vintage. — 8 years ago
