Sophie's Reserve Pinot Noir 2012

Very enjoyable Pinot from a wine club (Cellars Club 90+). I expected a little more from a small producer from good vintage from a good area. Sour cherry, strawberry jam, cranberry, subtle vanilla and a hint of earth. Some spice on the palate with subtle but ripe fruit. Good acidity and medium body but seemed just a little empty on the mid-palate and ended with a medium finish. Overall, a good Pinot but not a great one IMO. — 10 years ago

Tiramisu-Hoo Chocolate Espresso Milk Stout 2015

Stout with great coffee flavor. No bitterness. Well made well balanced. Smells sugary sweet on the nose , full body, coats the mouth and tongue in a great beer/espresso flavor. — 10 years ago

Strong blackberry flavor but not overpowering. Style is similar to a saison. Great to take your time with on a summer day. — 10 years ago

Lussac-St. Émilion Merlot Blend 2010

Musky, dark cherry plus spice infused forest yet barrel-tinged nose enhancing one's first-blush swig offering a velvety trickle down the throat:). Second swig poured over a mouthful of oyster mushrooms white cheddar fondue, garlic gastrique... Oh so fine, thanks be to the team at Terrapin, in VA Bch, VA. Hanging at the bar getting uber good service from groovy Erica, who gives you plenty of room to breath yet meeting one's every dining need. All so cool! If in VA Bch, hit it!! If eating these mushroom oysters in the wash of this wine, then chill and dig it cause it's the good stuff..:)! — 11 years ago

Guano Loco Chili Pepper Brown Ale

Shit's crazy. Chili spice and brownie nice, this is a creative ale that lingers along the boundaries of a chocolate stout and a chili pepper style ale perfectly. Good, long finish. — 11 years ago

Serracapelli Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Very interesting nose, which I am pondering (lots of spice). Should have decanted a half hour ago, as I think there is lots of room for note development. That written, I was hungry, which also translates to thirsty:). What's good food absent good wine? In any case, it is all here, @ VA Bch 'a Terrapin (groovy spot with a north end locals flare; crazy good oysters and other farm-to- table excellence). Oh yeah, the wine - well, there 's a strong cherry explosion that drifts making for a silky, deep finish. Back to eating and drinking..:) — 11 years ago
