A sparkling nose of brioche and expression with hints of white peaches, flowers, citrus. In the mouth, it's the goal! With an explosion of refreshing flavors with hints of peaches and toasted apricots. A delight both on the field and in the glass, bravo!

— 7 years ago

My first wine from the Galilee appellation in Israel. It’s a mountainous, stony terrain, but for all the stress I imagine vines go through in this formidable environment, Galil Mountain’s 2012 Bordeaux-style blend is stunningly pure, with almost pillowy-plush aromas of black currants, blackberries, violets, spice box and anise. Aged 16 months in French oak, the tannins are ultra-fine and evenly distributed. Elegant and nuanced on the palate, the only detractor is an ever so slightly hot finish. It doesn’t quite hide its 15.5% ABV Sample — 9 years ago
Beateous expression of rocky terrain, stout dark red fruit and wet stones, bold-ish fruit, touch o' herb at end — 11 years ago
Been waiting va while to taste this wine from Pisco grounds. Helluva terrain up there. Lean, structured, minerals and I'm glad I have two more bottles — 5 years ago
Stunningly good cool climate SB. Crystalline and pure, zippy and intense minerality. Great weight, styled like a classic Sancerre or Pouilly Fume. Long elevage. Chestnut and acacia. Vineyards sit on the slopes above apple orchards. Very steep terrain. Phoenollically ripe. Delicious. — 6 years ago
An excellent Cab from Moon Mountain. This vineyard sits on the Sonoma side of Mount Veeder, right off the border of Napa and is known for it’s extremely rocky terrain and it’s famous farmer Phil Coturri. Had this one in magnum and it’s starting to open, but plenty of improvement in bottle still to come. Rich and brooding and packed with black fruit. Moderate acidity and some mild tannin. A well made wine that will reward for the next 15yrs and beyond. 🌝 ⛰ — 7 years ago
Massive 15.5% smackdown from Alicante. Strong thick slow legs. Full bodied. The nose is earthy with white pepper, hint of black licorice. Palate is interesting. Quite silky, immediate attack is dusty, supposedly like the terrain (late revision: this note subsiding over time); then big fruit, the end is a tad candyish with very little tannic grip. I had this with a light meal. It would have paired better with steak, or heat spice. Great wine, but Vatan is better in this price range for Spain.

Possible one of the best choices for all terrain fusion sushi oh the fat and crispness hints of pears deffinitly a whiteee to follow also might be able to age. 300 years of winery, keep up with the good work — 9 years ago
One of my new favorite white wines from Sicily. The Etna terrain adds some mineral to the wine which makes it interesting to drink. — 10 years ago
A cuvée of Dijon clones 37 and 777, “Mother Rock” is named for Wayfarer’s sandstone substrate which urges our vines to burrow deeply, their fruit echoing the unlocked terrain below. Flinty minerality ascends from the glass, a tribute to the wine’s earthy origins. Intense, bright fruit aromatics evoke raspberry, red cherry, strawberry, blueberry and red currant underscored by mineral notes and a delicate woody character achieved with aging in fine French oak. A mouth-coating cascade of cassis and black cherry carries through the long finish, bolstered by balancing acidity and velvety tannins.
We hand-picked and hand-sorted the fruit, reserving 24% for whole-cluster fermentation prior to de-stemming. The remaining berries were de-stemmed and hand-sorted again before transfer to tank. Five to seven days of cold maceration preceded more than two weeks of 100% native yeast fermentation. The fruit was then gently pressed, its free-run juice transferred to 56% new French oak barrels for 15 months of aging.

Very good, though perhaps past its prime a bit and starting to show a little less character than I'd like. A nice acidity to match it's sunny yellow hue, taste of lemon rind and citrus, medium body, with a lot of rocky minerals and terrain. It is nice to have a wine focus on minerality vs fruit forward compounds. Hope to score a bottle of this a bit younger next time. — 6 years ago
This is just an all around beauty. Youngest 904 I’ve ever had and could’ve used a little bit more time in the cellar but such a fun and extremely versatile wine. Takes me back to last summer sitting on La Rioja Alta’s tasting room porch over looking the beautiful terrain of Rioja. — 7 years ago
On the nose, ripe dark cherries, blackberries, black raspberries, black cherry cola/licorice, pepper, medium spices, leather, underbrush, stones, crush rocks, very fragrant red roses and red dark florals. On the palate; the body is lean, medium soft tannins, black raspberries, black berries, dark cherries, cherries, poached strawberries, dry cranberries, black cherry cola, peppery, medium spice, tobacco leaf with ash, lean leather, light grilled meats, underbrush, gritty dark minerals, red roses and dark fresh florals, light presence of violets & good acidity. Nicely balanced finish and easy to drink young. Photos of their vineyard and large oak fermenters. Hard to believe you can farm anything in that terrain let alone vines, huh? 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre & 4% Cinsault. — 8 years ago
Un vin doré impressionnant. Les arômes de l'herbe et de l'abricot se sentant pleinement dans le nez. En plus un aspect tannique bien évidant dans la bouche. Il est vraiment intéressant de déguster le vin élevé dans le terrain!! — 9 years ago

Wildekrans Wine Estate is uniquely situated near the coastal village of Hermanus, where the mountainous terrain is complemented by the cool summer sea breezes providing an ideal terroir for producing quality wines. Delicate fruit and biscuity aromas on the nose, followed by a distinct creamy effervesce on the palate, leaving a crisp and clean aftertaste. From its back label — 5 years ago
