Money. Killer. Rad. Channeling my inner @Philip Carpenter who also totally loves these wines. Jaffurs is the poster child of consistency in winemaking, and Verna's is always a powerful tapestry. Super opaque, almost black purple, very ripe/rich black &blue fruits, some lavender, and roasted meats. Pedal to the metal, jump on board and enjoy the ride (now channeling my inner @Bill Bender!). — 8 years ago
The '95 never fails to astound me. This bottle came with me from Maine, through Colorado and Utah in extreme summer heat. It's been to climbing areas like Rifle, Mount Evans, Lincoln Lake, and also Yellowstone, Arches.
As usual, when I decanted it in the morning it tasted thin, figgy, bretty- oxidized and unpleasant. 8 hours later it became a tapestry of tertiary blackcurrant, tamari, blackberry, toast, sandalwood, roasted purple yam skin, a slight balsamic prickle, and dried orange.
It dominated the conversation, constantly transforming in the glass. We talked of first meetings, of Serge (the winemaker), the mysteries of how this wine was made, how it was rejected on release due to high VA. The 95 continues to grow in wisdom and eloquence, and probably will for several more decades. — 8 years ago
Outstanding smoky nose, lychee, kumquat, strawberries during a rainfall (marcel deiss exclusive note!), marmalade, honeydew melon, kerosene, the panoply of fruit notes goes on... A deep amber color, suggesting a heavyweight sweet wine, but the riveting acid and uncanny finesse of this wine gives it a buoyancy on the palate that is remarkable. Rich and long, seamless tapestry of lychee and marmalade and melon fruit notes, I find I'm running out of the bottle so fast...purchased as the star from the winery 2 years ago, will last easily 15 more years. A star of Alsace! — 9 years ago
Jammy and fruity up front.
Very tasty. Very light oakiness throughout most of the palate.
Probably drinking at its peak. — 9 years ago
Really quaffable, but never going to be spectacular! — 9 years ago
Deep Berry flavors. Dense and extracted for the vintage. Really like the fruit deliverance that is like silk tapestry. — 10 years ago
2000 Tapestry McLaren Vale Shiraz. Elegant and restrained. Black cherry, bramble fruit with hints of mint, dusty earth and leather. What a find in the bottom of the cellar! — 10 years ago

This is a perfect blend pleasant to the pallet — 7 years ago
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, racy and explosive to the core. An exotic tapestry of plums, sweet black cherries, smoke, bittersweet chocolate, licorice and dark spices race across the palate. Ample and intense, the 2012 has more than enough depth to fill its broad-shouldered frame... — 7 years ago
Breathtaking, transcendant and pure, the 1999 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-St.-Vivant is a woven tapestry of raspberries, cinnamon bark and fresh pastry, along with subtle touches of earth, underbrush, and lilting minerality. More diaphanous than the '99 La Tâche or Richebourg, the words that this wine conjures are vibrant, ethereal, fine-boned and mineral-edged. This is Pinot Noir at it's most nuanced expression. *tasted June 5, 2015 — 8 years ago
The Bin 128 from Penfolds 2013 vintage shows dense and dark purple tasted at 14.5% ABV. Vinified from 100% shiraz varietal from South Australia's Coonawarra region. The Bin 128 label was first produced from the 1962 vintage, the Bin series introduced in 1959 and Penfolds was established in 1844 now over 170 years of history behind it. This wine has a heritage built into it, quality extracted from the terroir and finest quality grapes and aged for 12 months after fermentation in French oak barrels. Aromatics of densely concentrated blackberry, strawberry, limestone minerality, black peppercorn, blueberry and a hint of sweet hay. The juicy, mouthwatering impact of this wonderful wine entices the senses to enjoy the unique texture and complexity of this well-balanced, well-integrated tapestry of aromas, flavours and elegant tannins. Pair this with rare AAA roast beef, mildly spiced Tex-mex fajitas, or gourmet BBQ bison burgers. Enjoy 2015-2025. — 9 years ago
Had a delicious smoked ribeye with a suitable BV Tapestry for dinner. Very nice. But we are finishing this hot Atlanta night with a refined Sauvignon Blanc from Flora Springs named Soliloquy. It seems to be a perfect night. — 9 years ago
Like a beautifully woven tapestry just beginning to unravel. — 9 years ago

La Mouline proved to be my second favorite of the three Guigal La La's. All three are 100-point wines from the 1999 vintage. La Mouline is, dare I say it? The most feminine of the trio. It also contains the largest percentage of Viognier blended into Syrah. It makes perfect sense that this liquid masterpiece should boast vibrant floral notes, violets, black cherry and blackberry tart, vanillin and star anise. Pure sensuality on the palate, ribbons of flavor and texture create a rich and decadent tapestry in the mouth. The finish is long and seamless, with white pepper and cassis notes. Pure magic. — 10 years ago
Delicious orchard & stone fruit. Wonderful tapestry of silken and mineral textures. Very long & fine. — 11 years ago
An intricate and tightly woven tapestry of baked fig, cassis, cedar sawdust, black cherry, espresso, tobacco, licorice, incense, and praline, with a full rack of spices. Loaded with intensity, but never heavy. Ethereal and exotic, but feels like home. — 7 years ago
Its hard to find words for this beauty. A nose of cedar and tobacco leaf, graphite. Lighter bodied than expected but lithe, feline, with a core of dark berry and a tapestry of perfectly concentrated blackberry, cherry and light floral elements. It just got better with every sip, passing through any reference I have for Bordeaux excellence. — 8 years ago
Stunning. The petrol is intense, which personally I don't mind. Underneath is a floral, tart citrus tapestry with a quiet power that builds to a long, mineral finish. Nearly bone dry with just slight botrytis. (Yes, those are Fioranos in the background :) ). Great bottle from @Max Kogod ! — 8 years ago
Killer wine combining super oak, fruit, and spices in a beautiful tapestry. — 9 years ago
Like drinking a piece of history, I felt privileged to taste the 1985 and 1983 vintages of Knudsen Erath Pinot Noir with two of the children of Cal Knudsen. Graceful, arching secondary and tertiary notes of sous bois, dried rose petal, wild mushrooms, brown sugar and dried mint. Brickish in the glass, like a faded tapestry, one can detect how it might have been at its zenith. There is, interestingly still moderate acidity lacing together notes of game and iron ore, there's not much fruit to be found at this stage. — 9 years ago
2013 Grenache Shiraz. Quite lovely. A++ would drink again. — 9 years ago
Herbaceous nose, cherry and mint on the nose.
Velvet mouth feel, thin at first with some disjointedness in the tapestry of tastes: powdery tannins, rich mature fruit, lasting acid.
Beautiful with an hour in the glass — 10 years ago
This wine is stunning, in the same way that encountering a beautiful stranger can take your breath away. The nose draws you in with subtle layers of dried flowers, anise, Italian plum, forest floor and juniper berries. This rich, complex tapestry continues on the palate, the texture every bit as elegant as the nose. Polished tannins and structure that could easily carry it another 20 years in the cellar, but still fresh and vibrant today. Crushed stone, dried herbs and bay leaf. Pair with wild boar. — 10 years ago
8.5/10. An ever changing tapestry from opening to finishing; of berry, leather, tobacco and vanilla. Enjoy! — 11 years ago
Big oak, not super smooth. Matt doesn't like, I do! — 11 years ago
James Gourley
Offers a finely-knit tapestry of cedary, spicy, earthy red fruit. The wine unfurls seamlessly in layers to reveal each thread in exquisite detail, and finishes with echoes that enhance appreciation of the whole picture. — 7 years ago
