Drinking window is now. Israeli Syrah needs to be in the conversation. Displays exotic spices of mace and allspice but keeps its symmetry with blueberries and hanging gyro meat. Where this separates itself from the Rhône Valley or Washington is it’s unique numbing character. The finish leaves your palate with the same sensation Szechuan peppercorns demonstrate. Structured tannins accentuate it’s fleshiness and edginess. Savory lovers unite on this one. — 7 years ago
Not sure where this came from but discovered it in my wine stash this weekend. Very enjoyable combination of fruit, spice, and earthiness. — 8 years ago
Made in a true French tradition of 'wine goes with food'. It's one of those subtle Sonoma wines that does not try to overpower everything. While it can stand on its own, it is quite diverse for pairing with Coq au Vin, pork tenderloin and of course, a big juicy porterhouse. We love going to Jordan's winery because it is like stepping off at the local chateaux in France, with the symmetry of the chestnut trees lining the courtyard and the neoclassical architecture. The wine reflects these surroundings in its balance, as well. — 9 years ago

RATINGS
Publication: Wine advocate
Rating: (89-91)
The 2014 Morgon, which has been organically farmed for 10 years, undergoes carbonic maceration with 80% in old Burgundy barrels for 8 months until bottling in June 2014 with one gram per liter sulfur. It has a light red cherry, slightly gravelly bouquet that is expressive and develops dried rose petals scents with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a sense of symmetry, and a fine, edgy, bitter cherry finish. This Morgon is very elegant and should age well over the next 8 to 10 years.

Rating: 92 (Gilman)
The 2014 Morgon from Antoine Sunier is aged in a bit lower percentage of used Burgundy casks than his Régnié (eighty percent versus ninety), with the balance of the cuvée raised in epoxy-lined cement tanks. These old vines have produced an excellent and quite classic Morgon in 2014, wafting from the glass in a fine aromatic blend of black cherries, cassis, fresh thyme, campfires, a superb base of dark stony soil tones, incipient autumnal notes and a whisper of cedar. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with lovey focus and grip, fine transparency and just a bit of backend tannin on the very long and perfectly focused young finish. Fine, fine juice in the making. 2015-2035. - Jon Gilman — 9 years ago
My first pass at this single vineyard. Amazing. Such symmetry and poise from a California Pinot. Perfect marriage of Cali fruit, and Burgundy. Dare I say Chambertin? This was awesome , and a bit young, but still showing all the glory of Ted Lemon's wines. — 10 years ago
This fabulous wine reminds me why we simply cannot create the same terroir flavor profile in California. Cedar, incense, saddle leather - none in over abundance, but all perfectly balanced. It's like the symmetry of a beautiful woman's face. This tremendous effort will pair well with almost any red meat. — 10 years ago
Thought provoking Syrah. Smells of blood and game, primal cave man wine. Generous attack evolving into a linear sharper symmetry. #nextlevelshit — 11 years ago
Not totally sure how I feel about this wine. On the one hand it's lovely and pure and clean, with decisive, cleansing minerality that gives focus and drive to its bright, fresh flavors of tangerine, sesame, and sea salt. On the other it's just a little lacking--in structure, in acidity, and in intensity as well. I like it a lot, don't get me wrong. We tasted this wine from tank though and were totally blown away by its symmetry and completeness. Perhaps the filters simply claimed their share. — 6 years ago
Crafted like 50 dollar Bordeaux rather than 15 dollar Bordeaux. Authentic Bordeaux aroma, body and color. Polished exterior and powerful interior structure. Has multi-dimensional integrity and symmetry. Conventional but fine wine. Tastes right. — 9 years ago
Intense! This is a stellar wine, and not even beginning to show her age #, other than the symmetry of the fruit, and tannins integrate seamlessly. It has been a month or so since drinking 02, but I think the 03 isn't much different other than it had a hint more of an anise note to it. Still one of our favorites & friends alway love it, so it is worth every penny! — 9 years ago
A citrus leaf floating down a stream bed. This wine has symmetry in spades. — 10 years ago
Total sleeper wine. Symmetry polish and dark fruit to match. Def a wine to buy if you can find it. My 1st of ghost block. — 10 years ago
I figured I'd see what the big deal is and pop one of these bad boys. Big fruit nose and great symmetry but slight heat is holding me back from going up a few more points. This has the stuffing for greatness in 3-5years when it comes together, bit for now still quite primal. If you like your Pinot young and ripe then go for it, but I will wait a few years. 94pts — 10 years ago
2014 is slightly less concentrated than the previous vintage, but better-behaved and more refined, with even better symmetry and proportion than the 2010. Modern and stylish wine but serious, authentic and substantial. — 7 years ago
Vanilla and cherries. Long finish. One of our favorite blends. — 7 years ago
Love this wine — 7 years ago
Very nice symmetry. This 2001 is living up to its baby brother to '00 and '05 value. Full bodied and can be enjoyed for many more year. But why wait. — 8 years ago
Refreshing red blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato. Bright berries, raspberry, well balanced symmetry with silky tannins and persistent finish. — 9 years ago
Soft ripe and ready to drink. Can franc front and center. Can almost feel the heat of the vintage in this wine. Slight prune and plum flavors underneath the cherry, flowers and some herb notes. Very nice and bright, and better on day 2. Lacks the powers and symmetry of the better years. — 10 years ago
Killer gose — 10 years ago
Energetic, great purity and a tactile interaction that is gravity-defying. A study in symmetry and modesty. — 10 years ago
Decided to check in on this. Still a baby and needed about a hour to wake up. Although the cab franc is small in this vintage it stands out. Great dark fruit, rocks, some oak but not overwhelming. Very nice symmetry and acidity. Let this rest for few more years. Then add a few more points. — 10 years ago
