At ninefor years this richly extracted and concentrated PV is really turning that beautiful third turn. Bordeaux concentration with a polished and seductive finish are the hallmarks of this solid gold medal wine. Took this to Tuskies and paired with fillet tips, venison rack and lamb shank. Served all three proteins with complementary harmony. — 5 years ago

One of my favorite sweeter Petit Mansengs. — 8 years ago
deep burnt orange, reminiscent of a sunset; strawberry, peach, wet stones, garrigue, and floral notes; medium+ body, dry, zippy acidity, 14% ABV; blend is majority Mourvèdre but also contains Cinsault and Grenache, short maceration on the skins, fermented at low temperature, aged in stainless steel; the estate has been owned by the Portalis family since before the French Revolution, a standard bearer for Bandol, a Neal Rosenthal import; $30 — 5 years ago

Nate Walsh and his Terroir Testimony. Year after year, he crafts liquid, articulate, honeydew wine...this one aged to perfection! 2014 allowed for plenty of acidity - and this the ideal match to a honey-baked ham with Roo Scalloped Potatoes!! — 7 years ago
Licking melon rinds in a flower garden under a peachy-lavender sunset as you play scratchers with your best girlfriends. Très YUM. — 8 years ago
Beautifully bright Cotes De Provance style Rose. Wonderfully bright fruit, perfect acidity that builds to a dry crisp finish. — 8 years ago
The White Burgundy was excellent but, still have to have my BSR 375ml. It’s been awhile for us.
It is a little better tonight following the Burgundy & soft white cheese.
The nose on this bottle really flows out of the glass tonight. Beautiful lean fruits of; blackberries, black cherries, cherries, strawberries, watermelon near the rind, blood orange, orange & tangerine & some pomegranate. Crisp volcanic minerals, saline, sea fossils, baguette crust, vanillin, whiff of caramel, soft white spice, pink flowers and rose pedals.
Everything on the palate sings just a little louder tonight as well. Fruits are even a little richer than normal. Ripe & slightly gummy not as normal leaner fruits of; blackberries, black cherries, cherries, strawberries, watermelon near the rind, blood orange, orange & tangerine & some pomegranate. Crisp and grippy, volcanic minerals, beautiful softer, powdery chalkiness w/o quite the sharper edge it normally has, soft, hints of Provence herbs, saline, sea fossils, baguette crust, vanillin, whiff of caramel, soft white spice, pink flowers and rose pedals. The acidity is crisp, lively and dead on as alway. The long, rich, well balanced finish is deliciously refreshing and persists minutes.

My Spicy Asian Lettuce Wraps. You know what they say, “bring the heat, bring the sweet!”
On the nose; mellowed petroleum, grapefruit pith, very ripe pineapple, more green & some golden apple, white citrus, golden raisins, stone fruit, hint of slivered almonds, soft minerals and yellow lilies with white spring flowers.
The body is full, thick and rich. It’s acidity rounded, softer and really beautiful. Stone fruits; apricots, peaches & yellow nectarines. Ripe green melon, grapefruit pith, very ripe pineapple, more green & some golden apple, white citrus, golden raisins, hint of slivered almonds, far less petroleum on the palate than the nose, soft chalky minerals and yellow lilies with white spring flowers. Delicious on its own and a good pair with Spicy Asian Lettuce Wraps. Coravined glass for pairing.
Interesting this sold previously for $143 on Delectable. I didn’t pay anything close to that upon release. $55+ currently on Wine Searcher. I paid around $27 at release.
Coravin bottle from from 13 weeks ago when we made lettuce wraps. I copied over my notes from 13 weeks ago. It hasn’t lost a step. It’s only gotten even softer & a bit creamier.

Tobacco leaf, cocoa powder, herbal red fruit. Perhaps bit more oak than it needs gives it a medicinal quality, but quite enjoyable. — 7 years ago

Had it outside last night with Indian food and a sunset. Super smooth and rich but not overpowering. Just goes down easy...
