For those of you who are interested in unbridaled opulence, the Nativ 'Eremo San Quirico' Aglianico Irpinia Campi Taurasini 2010 might be the wine for you. The nose fairly explodes with roasted cherries, plums, milk chocolate and vanilla, topped by a whiff of smoke and spice. There is some heft and power here, but it's almost entirely subdued by the more hedonistic elements of this Italian bombshell. Sultry overtones of figs, blackberries, and surprisingly, creme de menthe followed by cracked black pepper. — 9 years ago

2013 - leave it open for a day or wait a year or two. Already a fine Syrah with loads of potential. Peppercorn goes without saying, but add that to intense, seedy berries (esp. blackberry); some gaminess on the nose; and a bright, ruby color. There is also a sultry, floral perfume, and a insistent acidity that make me want to try it again in a few years. — 10 years ago
