Beautiful deep golden color. Orange peel, apricot and hints of almond. Perfect sugar/acid bakance. Fantastic. — 9 years ago
1959 Demi-Sec: very lemon peel nose, very delicate with light mineral Flint notes. Lovely harmonised palate with beautiful grace of deft sugar, and clean juicy acidity. All citrus with a hint of honey, and only very light nut and savoury on the finish. Sublime and in perfect harmony. On re sniff there were very distinct fennel and dill notes after 30minutes in glass — 9 years ago
90 pointer. easy to drink. would be nice with a steak, but fairly good on its own as well if you like cabernet. has some spice to it. — 9 years ago
This wine has a great flavor, it's a little dry but that's exactly what I was looking for. ! — 10 years ago
The colour of golden saffron suspended in lightly heated cane-sugar water; a nose of candied blood-orange rind, apricot blossoms, dehydrated sweet white onions, German asparagus sautéed in unsalted butter, and sweaty dandelions; a gloriously ambivalent palette - it shuttles back and forth between a frantically ebullient acidity and a warming fur coat of alcohol and sweetness, with just a hint of sea salt at the very end. An amazing wine. Like drinking in large and perfectly sculpted waves crashing over craggy and desolate cliffs, whilst watching an enduring and fathomless sunset. — 9 years ago
Favorite rum, perfect in a dark and stormy (ice, rum, ginger beer and dash of lime if you like) — 9 years ago
Red plum on nose. Rose petal too. Plum follows through onto palate along with strawberry and raspberry notes. Lush tannins. Nice offering from #pasorobles — 9 years ago
Very delicious blend! Smooth. Berry. — 9 years ago
Very pretty nose. sugar is slightly out of balance but has great future. would like to revisit this wine in 10 years time — 10 years ago
Very unusual rum. Cherry casks made their job very well - smell of cherry is awesome! — 10 years ago
It's young, no doubt about that. Might wait 5 years to open the next one... A lovely pure, greenish hue, fine, crystal clear; toast all the way - still closed but alluring; rounded and balanced, with good acidity. The fruit and sugar are present but well hidden. This will go on and on - a Bruce Forsyth like virility will keep this up for decades... — 9 years ago
Nose- steamed spinach, salted caramel, hay, grainy, burnt sugar... Taste- very sweet, creme brûlée... Have it with blue cheese — 9 years ago
From the famed Prichard Hill estate vineyard, this 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a cult wine, rubbing shoulders with Screaming Eagle, Harlan and Colgin. The nose is typical of Napa Cab, with rich aromas of steeped blackberries, cassis, saddle leather, spice box and carmelized brown sugar. On the palate, it's silky, sexy and nicely balanced. There is a lovely, polished interplay of fine tannins and glycerol, along with darker notes of saddle leather, cedar, and espresso beans. Medium plus finish. — 9 years ago
Tasted next to a 2007. Incredible experience. Still so great. Burned sugar. — 9 years ago
Half-bottle. The wine was medium amber in colour and offered orange peel, apple, honeycomb, caramel, smoke, spices, sherry and a mouldy note on the nose. On the palate the wine showed orange, peach, apple, cane sugar, caramel, smoke, spices, creamy honey, some coffee, a hint of chocolate, sherry, mild black tea and a mouldy note, paired with medium-plus acidity, a creamy honey mouthfeel and very good length. Judged by this half-bottle the wine has just passed its plateau and started its slow journey on the downward slope. A good, medium-bodied Sauternes with lots of botrytis character. Drink now. 89 — 10 years ago
