Tasted blind. Reddish tawny color. Edges suggest its old. Notes of strawberry, raspberry, iron, roses. Some zing and power in the nose. Slaps your face when tasted. Sappy. Powerful impact. Long finish. Other guesses were in Burgundy land eg Griotte but I went with 90 Rayas. Bingo. — 6 years ago

Brilliant onion skin. Vibrant red berry, peach and blood orange aromas are complemented by suave floral, fennel and mineral notes. Silky and energetic on the palate, showing seamless texture and subtly sweet strawberry, white peach and melon flavors that firm up and become spicier on the back half. Weighty but dry and gripping; the long, floral-tinged finish leaves a hint of succulent herbs behind. I'd love to throw this complex, uncompromising wine into a blind tasting of pink Bandols. Nose of tart cherry, wet wood, and hint of strawberry. Great balance on the palate with some acidity and light tannins. Finish lingers nicely with some noticeable smokiness. Failla's single vineyard pinots are even stronger, but this is great value! — 10 years ago

One of our favorite new (2009) AOC's in France, this is 80% Gamay & 20% Poulsard, but the epitome of 100% sparkling strawberry juice! So GD delicious!
One thing to note, last bottle is always the best, we're out of stock now, but don't hold these too long. We've seen bottle variation, likely best to track lot codes on the bottles and make sure your buying a newer version than the last, since we're talking about an NV product. — 7 years ago

We opened this beautiful Cava, the 2020 Ravantós i Blanc Conca del Riu Anoia Extra Brut Cava Rose. From Catalonia Sant Sadurni D'Anoia, Spain. A blend of 44% Xarel-lo, 39% Macabeo, 12% Parellada and 5% Monastrell.
On the nose is strawberry, lemon, white peach, lime peel, almond and a bit of minerality.
On the palate there is strawberry, citrus, lemon, lime peel, tarragon, hazelnut, yellow apple and minerality.
This wine is medium bodied with an onion skin color with a bone dry mouthfeel medium + to high acidity that leaves us with a long fresh citrus wet rock finish. At $23 you can't go wrong. This is very drinkable wine. Solid at room temperature or great slightly chilled. It almost smells like date or fig with a tough of earth and something tart. The pallet is thinner with good acidity and a touch of effervescent. Initially, upon opening, there was a bit of pomegranate, which still lingers a bit after a day. There’s also a dried strawberry and a bit of dry earth. Good with salmon or chicken. — 7 years ago

Ok what we have here is the 2011 which I found cleaning out my cellar so I decided to try a flight for thanksgiving. 11 to 13. From the color these wines are indistinguishable. On the nose they all have the same herbal notes. The 11 has thyme and raspberry it's now very elegant and will be awesome with the meal. These wines however taste unique and are not for everyone. Very style consistent through the vintages. The 12 has more strawberry notes and has a bigger mouth feel. The 13 has cherry notes or Kirsch it is my favorite and the best in my book. The rating is for the 2011. I would NOT recommend to age these wines. Drink NOW. Change! 11 now open for 7 days no oxidation better now! I adjusted the rating up. — 10 years ago
