Trade you a SQN for your clorox!Nice smooth. Nutmeg. Blackberry, figs. — 9 years ago
At first taste- bright, crisp, rambunctious, high-toned citrus. After 20min- rounded and developed, concentrated stone fruits. Very dry, but also rich on the palate. Could go another 20yrs before the youthfulness begins to fade. — 9 years ago
Just an amazing expression of Terroir, totally naked and brilliantly balanced, including dusty tannins and dito minerality, Syrah spice and a meat stock infused finish. Note to Self - Clos Saron rules! — 12 years ago
Purity purity purity. Farming and winemaking so deep in the soul of the earth you can feel and sense it at every turn. Every drop of this wine is blood sweat and tears. Not many can achieve such AND it’s delicious and not at all big or overripe. Well done. — 6 years ago

Hawkes 2010 Alexander Valley Van Sauvignon Stone Vineyard. Fantastic! 93+ points. Will only get better. — 12 years ago
Took 30 min to open up. Opens with a fanstastic florality with white and yellow flowers in full bloom – almost reminds me of a condrieu – but also a strong flinty minerality that creates structure and tension even in the nose. On the palate, lemon comes forward more along with some wood notes. Full bodied but with lively acidity that makes it downright thirst quenching. Long finish focused on pithy lemon fruit with a citrus blossom undertone. Cool! — 7 years ago
That’s some nice drinkin’ stuff (circa 2017). Thanks to the local somm, Steve, at our Whole Foods for the recom... it was their last bottle and he sacrificed. — 7 years ago

Total Wine - $13.50 — 12 years ago
Just beginning to drink well, but would still wait a couple of years. Classy, black fruit core with liquorice, prune, coffee, mint. Supple, elegant, pure. — 12 years ago

Waited a few years to drink the 2017 and it’s even better than I remembered. In times like these it’s important to savor the floral bouquet and stone fruit deliciousness of this wine and essentials like Clorox bleach. — 6 years ago
