Hungarian Blaufrankisch (sp?). Enjoyed. — 6 years ago
Buono mercato. Value. Montepulciano sarebbe il mio favarito. Sarebbe meglio di SP 68 dal Occhipinti. — 7 years ago
Good mix of berry fruit on the nose and palate. Medium tannins and relatively smooth for a young vintage. Had this over the day and enjoyed sipping as it opened up more. — 7 years ago
Sp fruity ! Like a soda pop, fuuuun! — 8 years ago
Fantastic vintage. Let it sit out for a bit. We used the Vinturri (sp?) and it made a difference. Either decant or table this for a bit. Smooth with your pepper finish. Very yummy. — 9 years ago

Black currants, green apple, unripened apricots, red cabbage, with an earthy mineral finish. Very approachable! — 5 years ago
This PetS is fruit forward, but still full bodied. It has rich dark currant and plum flavors, making it a great Autumnal cocktail wine. — 5 years ago
I can only drink these big boys with age. this is surprisingly fresh has some nice herbal notes and rather in balance I even have to admit. 60% merlot, sonoma, 20% mt veeder cab sauvignon, 20% napa cab franc. Threw off a ton of sediment. Only 480 1/2 cases. Cool. — 7 years ago
Old school...talk about label wear!
"1989...the number, another summer...get down...
Sound of the funky drummer!"
Still in the driver seat, this is gorgeous and yes it's old but the wine blossomed after 30 minutes and now at 2 hours open its singing and going strong.
1989 Joseph Phelps "Insignia", Napa Valley
Ruby-garnet edges, a deep core of red color.
The nose started out super funky, but blew off to a nose of mature cedar, forest floor, dried red cherry and cassis. The palate is old, but like the nose gained strength with air, it gained depth and concentration. Mulled spices, red fruits, plum, cedar and red fruit skin.

Great wine, great structure, great finish...this 2008 is a beauty! — 8 years ago
Huge attack leads to a subtly sweet midpallate and a slightly sour finish. Wonderful floral bouquets on the nose. — 9 years ago

Citrus, toast notes, very nice bubbles. — 10 years ago
Red cherry, dried prune, dried raspberry. Dried roses, cherry cola, nepitella (sp?), eucalyptus, damp pine, decaying mushroom, forest floor, nice integrated tannins and acid. — 11 years ago
Red wine that I took to celebrate dinner at my parents' 50th wedding anniversary at the Cassiano Restaurant in SjCampos, SP - Brazil. — 6 years ago
Lots of vegan funk on the nose, and a streak that smells a bit like Pakistani lentil daal (sp.?). Oh yeah, and some sappy cherry fruit. This brings the earthy minerality in the mouth. Good weight and focus. A very blue collar cousin of Sancerre rouge. A standout with roast chicken. — 7 years ago
Magnum 1982 Chateau Leoville-Las Cases Bordeaux. Big group holiday dinner hosted by A&V M at Sp private room. Had a lot of funk up front, but mellowed a lot as the wine opened up in the glass. Not a lot of fruit left in this wine, but very enjoyable. — 7 years ago
SP 68 bianco 2014. 12% ALC❓📉
A blend of 50% Albanello & 50% Zibibo.
You can smell this wine from some distance away. Limestone, honey, on the nose. Beautifully structured, with an abundance of citrusy flavors, ripened pear, slightly sour flavors. Secondary floral notes, with minerals that washes clean on the backside of the palate. Light-medium bodied. 2/3 years. Great value! Love this one! — 8 years ago
Drink now. Dark fruit is quite subdued now, melding into garrigue (sp?) and shale streak. Not as overpowering as it was earlier in its drinking window. - Vintage 2007 tasted Jan 2015. — 9 years ago
