Brasserie De La Pigeonnelle

Loirette Bière Artisanale de Touraine

Shrimpy saline and musky saffron aromas and sweet, familiar Belgian triple, maybe La Chouffe? or even like Hefeweizen ? tastes--but finishes drier, more refreshing and more musky. Pretty refreshing, goes quick. Most certainly lighter-footed than Chouffe. Quite the rare gift! How do I rate a beer, I'm no beer guy...? — 11 years ago

Goose Island

Sofie Belgian Style Farmhouse Ale

My favorite hometown beer. So well balanced. Used it in my steamed mussels dish. Also pairing well with these pan seared scallops and sous vide shrimp.

Interesting profile: dried cherries, granny smith, cedar box, with a hint of a big red wine (AUS Shiraz, etc.). Not a lot of carbonation, would have liked to have opened a bottle a year ago to see what role aging has played (bottled 1/16/15). — 8 years ago

Notes of eucalyptus, juniper berries, pink peppercorn and grapefruit on the nose with an initial taste of sour cherries. Tastes like you drank an entire pine forest with lemon balm, sorrel and manure compost. A bit tannic. This made me a convert finally to Beaujolais. — 11 years ago
