Nice Chardonnay, but a little petroly and sweet. Great mix of white fruit flavors and an elegant nose of pear and tropical fruit. — 7 years ago
I'll save you some reading; I am a homer when it comes to this winery, so if you want to disregard my review I understand. But this winery is doing it right. And they've planted ungrafted Margaux rootstock. I won't lecture, but that's kind of a unique deal. The wine itself is ridiculously lively for a wine nine years old. Sumptuous dark fruits, black earth and hints of tobacco, mint and decaying violets (in a good way) greet the nose. The palette is both refined and fresh. Silky, silty tannins blend with stewed and tart fruit, along with a solid backbone of earth. It's going to be a challenge, but you really should try and get a bottle from this winery. — 8 years ago
The more restrained wine from this producer. Has a touch more length and intensity than the Romulus. — 8 years ago
Orchard fruit and good minerality! Dollar for dollar one of the best. — 9 years ago
Smells like winter ❄️ menthol, apple, toasty, creamy, touch of honey on the nose. The taste lemongrass, rose petal... Gives you a silky tongue 🌹😛 — 9 years ago
Great nose without the overly-oaked style of Cali Chards. Enough body to hold up to roasted chicken, but a light feel on palate. — 10 years ago
Big blockbuster. Dark fruit and raisins, lots of tannins, well balanced. A beauty. — 10 years ago
Really spectacular wine! Rich tannins, dark fruit, and a floral and earthy nose. The terroir comes through beautifully, along with a buttery soft and warm glow on the back of the tongue. This wine is a sensory delight from start to finish. — 11 years ago
Line pith and chalk. Lip smackingly deliciousness! 👌🏽 — 5 years ago
2014 vintage. Very dark-fruited and lots of black tea. Black cherry, crabapple, black plum, dried cranberry, black tea, subtle spice, walnut husk, dried autumn leaves. Reminiscent of a good village level Gevrey-Chambertin. — 5 years ago
Was a 9.2 yesterday, but after sitting overnight it definitely improved. The wood seems more integrated and the whole thing is more vibrant. Nice balance of fruit and earth. I'll hang on to my other bottle of this for awhile. — 8 years ago
One of the worlds best wineries and winemakers. Never disappoint. This 97 is stellar. DEEP! — 8 years ago
Good fruity flavor, great nose, could probably stand to age a couple of years but still solid! — 9 years ago
2014 very pure, lime and slate — 10 years ago
Wow! Wish I had another case of this. 13 years of patience was the right call. — 10 years ago
Powerful aromatics that speak to Aussie Riesling... Key lime, grapefruit, lemon zest, and petrol - think fresh tennis balls. Bounding acidity meets ripe, juicy tropical fruit, as this maintains a dry, lasting finish. Paired with spicy curry, but would also go great poolside in the summer. Fun fact: Vineyard planted in 1912. Outstanding effort. 11% ABV — 5 years ago
The only other Aubert I've had was an '09, so it was nice to try one that was a little younger. This was served very cold and needed to warm up a bit to express itself, and probably needed a bit of air. No butter bomb here...crisp green apple, brioche, cantaloupe finish. Possibly a faint hint of mint? Absolutely beautiful juice, though in comparison, the '09 Lauren from them was more enjoyable. — 7 years ago

2009 vintage from High Eden (my favourite terroir for Aussie Riesling). Pale lemon green hue. Ripe lemons and limes, and diesel TDN. White peaches and chalky minerality with a whiff of gun powder. On the palate, dry, not too oily and only medium minus body. Fresh and crisp acidity cuts through this wine like a knife. Alcohol is low in a Mosel way. There's great intensity of flavour and a ripe lemony / limey finish that is quite persistent. Not archetypal Aussie Riesling here. There's a deft hand from the wine maker and clearly an attempt to make a feminine, delicate wine not meant to overwhelm the drinker. Personally, I would age this another 5 years to get some more interesting tertiary characteristics - the structure of the wine (concentration and acidity) suggests it will improve further. — 9 years ago
Dry, leaner Viognier with loads of character. Floral, aromatic. — 10 years ago
