Pomegranates, stewed strawberries, petrol, leather, tobacco, Forrest floor, mint, cigar box, pine needles. Rounded acid/minimal smooth velvet tannins, full bodied, satin texture, super long, smoky-fruity-herbal finish. Gracefully matured, elegant, highly aromatic, secondary notes perfectly blended with fruit. At its peak, decant. — 8 years ago

I love Dan Standish. He is one of the best winemakers. Lovely wine, very young. Blueberry and Red silky fruit. Full Bodied but not overly alcoholic, heat isn't obvious in this wine. Great length and layers of flavours. Big points from me 95 points. A producer I highly recommend! Typical sweet Barossa fruit, very seductive... — 11 years ago

So much peat and smoke. Also more subtle grassy notes and earthy sweetness. Super light-bodied. A great Islay scotch. — 8 years ago

Big and jammy with nice oaky spice and vanilla. Lacked a little on the mid palate but the finish was long and saved it — 10 years ago

A great '94 Old Hill still cruising along. Beautiful aged Zinfandel nose of red cherries and mint. Still firmly tannic. — 9 years ago

Very peaty, campfire smoke hits the nose immediately. There’s a hint of raisin and some tar, then a long saline finish. One of the best Islay’s I’ve had. It is a beast; consider yourself warned if you prefer a lighter or fruitier flavor profile. — 7 years ago
