Medium ruby in color; cherries, tomato leaves, and woodsmoke on the nose;high acidity; medium tannins; tastes like red currants, black cherries, and balsamic with a long finish. — 10 months ago

A great '94 Old Hill still cruising along. Beautiful aged Zinfandel nose of red cherries and mint. Still firmly tannic. — 9 years ago

Aromas of dark cherries and raspberries. Some blackberries among the rich luxurious oak. Superb taste and balance with amazing body and finish. — 11 years ago
Balvenie Doublewood 12yr - the nose is light with a hint of wood. On the palate you get a bit more power and a full mouth warmth. Finish gives you more of that wood and heat. It’s a good, easy drinker. Won’t go out of my way to get but wouldn’t feel bad if given a dram. — 8 months ago

Very peaty, campfire smoke hits the nose immediately. There’s a hint of raisin and some tar, then a long saline finish. One of the best Islay’s I’ve had. It is a beast; consider yourself warned if you prefer a lighter or fruitier flavor profile. — 7 years ago
So much peat and smoke. Also more subtle grassy notes and earthy sweetness. Super light-bodied. A great Islay scotch. — 8 years ago
Muy rico. Excelente cuerpo, sabores complejos. — 10 years ago
Black cherry, raspberry notes. Fair amount of acidity. Paired well with baked salmon. — 10 years ago
I love Dan Standish. He is one of the best winemakers. Lovely wine, very young. Blueberry and Red silky fruit. Full Bodied but not overly alcoholic, heat isn't obvious in this wine. Great length and layers of flavours. Big points from me 95 points. A producer I highly recommend! Typical sweet Barossa fruit, very seductive... — 11 years ago

Not really a whisky drinker, but I can appreciate this Scotch. Very woodsy and dry. Cedar with orange bitters, and oaky vanilla bean. Clean fresh finish, with a long lasting Szechuan pepper tingle and wood chips towards the end. 14 yr single malt. — 8 months ago
